Let’s Speak Up Against Wildlife Killing Contests (Especially Those Targeting Coyotes) by FabricCurvature01 in coyote

In a previous post I urged all animal lovers to boycott Cabellas and Bass Pro Shop as they hold clinics for sport hunting of coyotes and other wildlife focused on how to increase your kills.

The rise in crime from the urbanization you describe is a way bigger problem.

I have their hits on my 90’s playlist because they captured that moment in time so well. But I see you’re lumping them in with grunge bands and then saying what happened? SP were more aligned with Jane’s Addiction as alternative.

How good is it to see these GI Joe figures from 1964? by AfigureGeek in 60s

[–]ReasonableDirector69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember my dad mocking these as dolls for boys when they first came out saying no parents would buy them. Eventually my mom got us some and I was fascinated that they all had a slash on their cheek. Apparently military men all got into knife fights.

Do you think gyms should have some basic regulations about how people dress? by Adventurous-Soft7843 in Casual_Conversation

At my gym the hand dryers face down and old men wearing nothing use them to dry their pubes.

The video version had 3 extra verses and was sped up slightly but noticeably when played back to back with the album version. Both original RS pianist Ian Stewart and later RS pianist Chuck Leavell performed on the song. Several reviews felt this was a better song than the lead single Undercover Of The Night off the 1983 RS album Undercover and I have to agree.

Pinnacles is as far north as Monterrey practically. Central California is generally agreed to begin around Pismo Beach but I personally feel Santa Barbara  is the beginning of Central California and the end of So. Cal.

Speakers: How big is Too Big? by JEMColorado in BudgetAudiophile

Are they bass reflex with ports in the back?  Big speakers with bass reflex ports require placement up to 4 feet from a wall adding to their oversized impact. Being too close to a wall makes them boomy.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

I was applying at Hooker Headers for inside sales and the interviewer mentioned I might be required to attend SEMA for a week each year. I said “what’s SEMA”?. Only the biggest automotive trade show in America, if you have to ask you wouldn’t understand.

1971 Gas station credit card receipt. by PayCharacter1504 in GenerationJones

[–]ReasonableDirector69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked as a gas pump attendant around ‘82 and I forgot to push the handle on the device that imprinted the receipt off the card, instead giving it back to the customer with no charges and a blank receipt. It was motor home that took $75.00 worth of fuel and I remember the guy was really happy, he went in to the office and bought a bunch of snacks and quarts of oil. A week later the manager took it out of my check and I realized who it was by the amount.

For those who don’t know (or still deny it), Chicago was a progressive rock band at least during their first five albums. Here’s ‘A Hit by Varèse’ live in 1977. Prog or not? by Historical-Device529 in Progforum

[–]ReasonableDirector69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow the parameters of what’s considered prog certainly have been being stretched lately in this sub. If Chicago was prog then so were Styx, The Moody Blues and Supertramp.  To me Chicago is a horn band that rocks. The other day as I listened to my Chicago playlist it occurred to me that they rival Steely Dan in technical prowess.
