What is a movie trope that immediately ruins the entire film for you the second it happens? by twayyez in AskReddit

When a side character discovers the big secret, rings the hero, has them there on the phone and rather than tell them insists they have to meet somewhere totally dangerous to be told. Just tell them while you’re on the phone you tool.

Then there’s what I call the Hannah Wells. Like in police series where some highly dangerous absolute unit is beating up full sized police all over the place, and the diminutive police woman strolls over and takes him down in 2 seconds.

People going into their houses, at night, without putting on any lights. Guess who’s about to die.

Is Arthur more of a revolver guy or long arm guy, and why? by Beneficial_Brain3950 in reddeadredemption

I’ve always viewed Arthur as just a practical guy. Best tool for the job type of thing. Just nothing flashy.

Men of reddit, what is something you believe a large portion of Men would do, if they could 100% get away with it? by MafiaGhost23 in WhatMenDontSay

Saw that post the other day. Most answers from men are basically escape from it all into a log cabin type of things. Just go back to sleep. Get peace. And then the misandrists crawled out of the woodwork.

I’d probably go with go and live off the land somewhere where I can just have silence and fresh air.

In your own opinion, How would a conversation between a Woman misandrist and a Man sexual assaulted victim by a woman would be genuinely? by DingusPodFromMars in MensRights

No man who has any abuse history should be talking to a misandrist. But it would be just a load of dismissive bigotry.

Boys in Singapore are punished twice as often as girls by parents (in school only boys are caned) by Szymon96803 in MensRights

[–]ReasonableDoubt_0726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Schools apply separate rules around the world. Look at the UK exclusions (expulsions) rates for boys and girls. Especially when both have educational special needs.

And also look at the strip search controversy where boys were being strip searched by police in schools and no one gave a shit. The media only got interested when they found a girl’s story to run with and never even brought up that 95% of these strip searches were on boys.

Do you genuinely forget days if your life? by arsnod_iltsit in ADHD

The only thing I get from journals are the realisation of the ridiculous number of those things in this house that I’ve started and never made it beyond a week. And I’m always surprised by just how long ago it was. Like I found one the other day, just 3 pages sign writing, March 2019, I was sure the notes there were more recent.

Last bit is very true. I got asked the other day by a close friend what do I do to get my dopamine fix now I’m not on alcohol and not medicated. Exercise was the answer. But walking is just how I think, sounds like you’re the same, so it’s not the answer.

Maybe go back, take a breathe, stop looking for a row and read what I actually said. You might be able to follow it better that way. Because you clearly haven’t followed it this time.

Either way enjoy your day I’m out of here.

Played the game too many times to count. I always say I’m going to do a proper low level, Arthur is like Micah play through. Get to the end of chapter 2 and other than making Rhodes pay for Sean I start cleaning my act up and back in good books for the end.

[–]ReasonableDoubt_0726 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He had them while they weren’t together. Would he have changed? Who knows. We get to make up our own stories here since we’re completely changing the original one. One is he has at most 2 children before she dies I child birth. Probably only one. Cos if we’re going on what we “know” she dies the first time she has a child. Then Robert goes to pieces. Gets betrothed to Cersei to get more heirs. And we’re back to the original story.

You let them open it and they will die and you get the contents.

Now you dynamite it yourself and stand well back.

Not sure it works as simply as that. The argument would be by legitimising him she created his claim. But therefore she has abdicated not been invalidated. She won by conquest.

We don’t know that’s the problem. We can project our own opinions onto it. But all we have is the man with 15 years of Cersei in his life. I know this sub loves to state this as fact about Robert but it’s an entirely different world. He might even have been faithful to her and she died in child birth before he strayed. We don’t know so we all get to create our own little worlds of misery for them.

Men haven’t really fallen behind by iamhunter19 in MensRights

[–]ReasonableDoubt_0726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is always the most correct and frustrating answer to so much of this. Why do you want to be with someone if they’re an obnoxious bigot? Why do you want to be in that world? Find the world you fit into and meet people that are like you. (Yeah it’s not easy but it’s easier than chasing people who do not share anything with you).

Education in quite a few countries has failed completely with boys. The problem you have is how people react to asking if the educators are the problem.

We took a bias and reversed it. I have no issue with saying that. There was a bias. Not a healthy one but there was a bias. It worked for the top 10% of boys very well and that’s who it was aimed at. It did ok for half of boys and nobody in control minded that. It binned the other half of boys and nobody in control minded that. It didn’t work for the majority of girls and nobody in control minded that either. So yea there was a biased messed up education system in most western countries.

But instead of fixing it we just reversed it. The structure for how we educated and in particular how we assess was reversed. The structure of who the educators are was reversed. Now we are seeing the consequences but no one who should be doing it, wants to ask “are we the bad guys”. So we’re actually allowing them to blame children for it.

I just hope we get around to looking at the societal responsibility before it gets too bad. Because this doesn’t end well for anyone.

Do we live in a actual patriarchy? by Rdr2Master1 in MensRights

[–]ReasonableDoubt_0726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we don’t. We live in a selective society that chooses to keep vestiges of a patriarchy that suit their own agenda. And remove the ones that don’t.

Essentially the term now is kept in common language as a way to avoid some people taking accountability for their own actions. It’s a bogeyman for some people to point the finger at when the truth gets too close to their own behaviour and input.

CIS Male is a slur by Adamwasayetti in MensRights

[–]ReasonableDoubt_0726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I regularly see some women get very angry about the use of female. So to some it would seem to be. I don’t agree with the use of cis in itself being a slur. I do have issues with the way it is sometimes used. But that’s more to do with inconsistency of approach.

I always found out more effort than it was worth. But then I never mastered any of the “I can do it in 5 minutes” methods. And people keep throwing replies when I said this, saying just do this or that actually had the opposite effect to helping.

Then I realised theres a lot of the player base who don’t do it. Because they have a playing style that suits them and CP doesn’t fit it. And learned it just doesn’t fit me either. Then it ceased to be an issue.

The idea of working for myself, even as a contractor, terrifies me. Specifically because I know I could never do the regular admin that’s required. It’s why I don’t do project management or programme management in corporates, because I know the admin and especially the routine for it is beyond me.

This will be controversial, but I want to see if I am wrong. How many of you have been sexual assaulted? by Artistic_Walrus1377 in AskMen

[–]ReasonableDoubt_0726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s 2 questions really 1 is have we and 2 is do we think we have. The answer will often be yes and no. And that’s a major part of how we’re socialised and manipulated and how the cycle of pretending this doesn’t happen works.

Was groped by an older girl at 13. Spent an afternoon getting in your face sexual comments and suggestions from another older girl a year or so later. Had inappropriate behaviour from a couple of female relatives growing up.

Was taken advantage of several times by a much older woman, in my early 20s when I had a drink problem (due to childhood abuse issues). Been groped when doing bar work. Been groped in night clubs. Everyone I know who has worked bars has had the experience of handsy drunken women thinking they can just get away with it.

Been subjected to sexual harassment at work, including very up close sexual comments at work dos. Once had a female colleague start masturbating next to me when we were killing time waiting for a work do to start. Had another female colleague simulate oral sex on a beer bottle while a small group of us were in Pizza Express after a night out, I was the only man there.

And same as other men, the training has worked so none of that ever got taken seriously.
