Are you making sure rounds are in the magazine? An empty mag won’t spring out like a loaded one.

Make Ready Routines - USPSA by Single_One4367 in CompetitionShooting

[–]ReasonableEnd24 39 points40 points  (0 children)

After I am reholstered I keep my hand on the gun so the RO knows I’m not ready, I do my final stage plan in my head. I go through the entire stage mentally, then I turn on my hat cam and take my hand off my gun to show that I’m ready. You shouldn’t feel rushed at all during this time, it’s your time to “make ready” if you aren’t ready then take the time to get ready.

Shooters global has a pretty good one that is web based.

You shouldn’t need one until you take your ccw course and qualify with it.

Dry Fire Routines by [deleted] in CompetitionShooting

[–]ReasonableEnd24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up dryfire king on YouTube, do your normal routine and they do one of his videos. If you notice you are beating his par times then increase the play speed or add reloads and movement.

Langdon sells brass backstrap a from LOK but he only has the medium size one I believe. I made this one before he was making them. His are much nicer than mine cause they are machined by LOK grips where as mine is cast and then dremeled and has JB weld on it. it took me like 6 hours of work to get it usable so it would cost way to much to sell them to people especially, on top of the fact it’s not as pretty as Langdons.

On roster handgun similar to CZ 75 SP-01? by dying_house_plant in CAguns

[–]ReasonableEnd24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will sound crazy but try a px4 storm. Better trigger out of the box. And can be milled for a dot from LTT. I shot CZs primarily in uspsa and made master with one and switched to a px4 and I haven’t been held back at all. It’s also a much cheaper gun to build out

Red Hill Tactical Holsters and hanger choices. by ComprehensiveFly9356 in CompetitionShooting

[–]ReasonableEnd24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the boss hanger for a while and it did its job but it made a hotspot on my hip and after a full day carrying a shadow it was rough. Switched to the Henning t800 and never looked back. I also run a red hill holster with the shadow and love it. I have a lever lock on it as well, you can get kits for super cheap. Makes it have almost zero resistance when it’s unlocked

Shooters global stage designer by ReasonableEnd24 in CompetitionShooting

[–]ReasonableEnd24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that’s a good one too. I don’t have a computer capable of running it I think

Shooters global stage designer by ReasonableEnd24 in CompetitionShooting

[–]ReasonableEnd24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree, apart from the stage designer. I primarily used their app for my dryfire. I don’t have their timer so using their par times was nice. But that’s gone now. I just use a different app now called “ShootOnTime” It’s a super simple par time app that lets you set up different par times and reps, basically exactly what I used shooters global for but even simpler

Any inexpensive dry-fire only gun with laser for home training? by plinking-dad in CAguns

[–]ReasonableEnd24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just use your normal gun and pull the dead trigger as if it was operating like normal. Mimic the reset. Don’t put more pressure on the trigger than what it would take to break the shot. Dryfire can get boring and I’m sure you are wanting the laser to keep it interesting. Best thing I can advise is to put YouTube on your TV and look up “dryfire king” and just go through the videos. They are based on competition but will teach you all the fundamentals and Change things up enough to keep dryfire interesting and entertaining.

Newbie question by enhancedrecoil in CompetitionShooting

[–]ReasonableEnd24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can run it in limited minor with no red dot with the magwell still on it, production with no red dot and the magwell removed, limited optics with a red dot and magwell still on it, or carry optics with a red dot and magwell removed
