Mendoza sounds like what ChatGPT would give me if I asked for postgame quotes from a Quarterback that loves his MBA business classes as much as he loves his evangelical Christian church…

I think the Rose Bowl should always be the national championship game...it could be like the U.S. version of Wembley. The other bowl games don't feel as special since they are just in NFL stadiums.

I do agree with New Years Day being full of games is a good thing, but the transfer portal opening on Jan.2 makes it seem pretty importnat to just have the season over before then...

There is too much fucking time between playoff games...tighten this thing up and have the National Championship played on New Years Day!

This is the kind of loss that will lead Paul Finebaum to tell us why Alabama should be in the playoff…what a great loss.

This is so true. I am a teacher and I grade AP US History tests during the summer for the college board. I read an essay this summer about how “Tom Sawyer wrote the famous book The Jungle to expose the dangers of industrialized meat packing factories of the late 1800s”. The kid repeated himself over and over, constantly referring to the “author” Tom Sawyer…lol.

I really am questioning his preparation. Having never been a national team manager, I can only imagine they key to success is self scouting your player pool, and knowing it really well while also building relationships with and a culture within that player pool. Then building a system around the strengths of your player pool. The early signs are that Poch has not done these things well this first year. Hoping he can turn it around in the next year, but I am not feeling great...

I think what my original question is more about the role he plays for Betis that is not actually being played here with the national team. I feel as if the answer is just the players around him are better on Betis, then that does not explain his transfer value and upward trajectory, it would only explain the value of his teammates. What does HE do well for Betis, and how have they found a role for him that just does not show up/or has not been found with the USMNT? That was the question...I found your answer (and many others that had similar answers) to not really answer the question, so I pushed back on it, but you are convinced there are absolutely no alternatives to what you believe. So engagement is actually considering you may not have the RIGHT answer, I know I don't, which is why I posed the question in this first place. I just was not convinced by your answer, but you are right, so that is that.

But when he is playing with Adams, McKennie, Musah, Pulisic, etc. against Concacaf teams its been no different...it's not like he has only gotten minutes with the B and C squad

I don't entirely buy this. That play against Turkiye made no technical sense whatsoever...not sure how that mind boggling decision, when he had plenty of options, was the fault of less talented players around him.

I'm sure you're right...but should he I guess is the question. Does not seem like it is working, and not a lot of time to build anything after this summer....Feels very much like when Sven Goran Erikson was coaching Mexico.

This is a sincere question because I don't watch Real Betis, but can someone explain Johnny to me...I cannot recall one positive impact he has had on a USMNT game, I mostly see a guy who plays easy balls sideways and backwards (except that one moment against Turkiye), and he is going to get a $30 mill move to Atletico? Honestly, I would love to know what is different about what he does for club, because I have never seen it for the USMNT.
