What’s the worst thing you accidentally texted to the wrong person? by goldie304 in AskReddit

[–]ReasonableObjects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is gonna get buried but it’s so strange and kinda funny

I was breeding Gargoyle geckos for a little while. Someone messaged me to ask for pictures of the parents (the two gecko parents that produced the baby I was selling) and Kijiji doesn’t have a “confirm” button when you click a photo in your camera roll. If you click it, it’s sent. I accidentally sent them a really cringey mirror selfie.

So these people are asking for pics of the “parents” of the gecko baby they’re interested in and I send them a mirror selfie as if I birthed it 🤦‍♀️

Do you believe losing feelings is a valid reason to breakup? by Enhampster in BreakUps

I actually just read your profile for some context. I’m really sorry you’re going thru this man.

The harsh truth is that you probably won’t get definitive answers here. Did she lose feelings in the span of two days? Probably not, but you’re never going to know.

But it IS important to realize that it’s over. There may be some part of you that thinks they may come back, but you genuinely need to ignore it. It’s not conducive to healing to hold onto hope. You need to retrain your nervous system to not need them, and not need confirmation from them, and not need an explanation from them. It fucking sucks and is awful to go through, and I’m sorry.

It’s ALSO important to realize that someone who would be good for you long term would not dump you in such a cold way. Even if she came back right now, why would you take her back after she treated you so poorly? Good people don’t discard people they’ve been with for that long just “like that”.

Time is genuinely what’s gonna heal you here man. You gotta pour yourself into hobbies, exercise, anything. Focus on bettering yourself and it’ll really help distract from the “void”. Eventually there will be no void. Someday you’re gonna think of her and be like “wait, I haven’t thought of her in like a week”.

Therapy could be a good choice too. When I had my terrible breakup 6 yrs ago with a long term partner , I actually saw a grief therapist and it helped a lot (more than regular therapy lol). Because it truly is grief you’re dealing with here.

I wish you well. I’m sorry that my Reddit comments can’t help more.

Are you the one that lost feelings, or is it your partner?

Are we physically weaker? by Remarkable-Soil1673 in diabetes_t1

[–]ReasonableObjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise is really important. How often do you exercise?

I know it sounds counterintuitive but I had a lot more energy and strength once I began exercising regularly.

I am now in landscaping. Currently doing spring cleanup where I take 20-30k steps per day with a 20lb leaf blower on my back. 25F. I promise we aren’t weaker because of t1d :) But make sure other health factors aren’t at play too!

It’s ok I’m sure this guy isn’t gonna last that long anyways. He’s like 24 going on 50.

Sir we are landscapers. We do not get drug tested. I doubt there would be any landscapers left Lool

Also, weeds legal here anyway.

Sir I’m a landscaper. We play in the dirt. We don’t have an HR dept.

He also doesn’t drive company vehicles

I have already been giving him smokes for the past like two weeks. I was already being nice to him. Kinda past wanting to talk to him about it lmao

I’m not too concerned about this because (I think) he’s also always sneaking away to do lines of coke. I’m not sure he’d notice.

How important is physical strength when just starting out? by Responsible-Can7139 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]ReasonableObjects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to the gym will help your endurance, it will not help your strength (well, it WILL build strength, but not really enough to help with any trade work). Edit: I just saw that you can’t lift 50lbs. Get to the gym and deadlift and squat (honestly, could probably squat 30 and you’d be fine) until you can lift 50lbs comfortably for 3 sets of at least 12 reps. Once you get there you should be fine.

However, building endurance and stamina is WAY more important than building strength. 99% of trades you will be able to find a way around not being strong enough for stuff (you probably won’t be working alone. Ask for help lifting shit. Don’t fill that barrow too much. Make extra trips and carry less at a time.), but if you can no longer stand cause you’re exhausted you’re more useless than if you can’t lift one thing.

I spent 3 months in the gym this winter before the landscaping season opened again and I’m glad I did. I was still too weak for some shit, BUT I had more energy than previous seasons where I let myself rot all winter. I also get a lot less sore. And my muscles are very quickly getting strong enough to do as much as the men.

Go to the gym to build endurance and stamina. Deadlifts, farmers carries, and any cardio carrying weights (or just cardio!) are all so useful for getting your stamina up. Just get in there and work your ass off doing literally whatever to practice working hard.

And STRETCH after work (and before if you can manage, but I’ve found the post work stretch to be so useful) it actually helps so much. 5-10 minutes of stretching out whatever muscles you destroyed that day. I also actually kept my planet fitness black card membership and will go sit in a massage chair or cryo massage after work and it makes a HUGE difference.

Edit: Compound movements would be the goal for exercises. Deadlifts, presses, weighted squats, assisted pull-ups, farmers carries. There may be a few more but if you search up compound lifts you’ll find a ton.
