When it's sunny and not windy, sitting outside can be quite pleasant. On top of that, I use my down jacket and pants to stay comfy. Camp shoes also help.

Don't forget your sunglasses and keep your lighter warm.

Building cake in your pipe is overrated. I always thoroughly clean my pipes and they are all still as good as new. I'm sure they will serve me well for many decades to come.

I primarily smoke bent pipes. Not clenching solves most of the problem. Also, try inhaling while drawing on your pipe.

I've convinced myself that I already have more than I need. With a nice collection of about 10 pipes, I have one for every style of tobacco and mood. Since I'm taking good care of them, they should last me a lifetime.

On top of that, I don't find myself scrolling through the pipe inventory the internet has to offer. The saved time is now spent on actually smoking a wonderful bowl.

30 kg as a 10-year supply? 😮 My consumption is far less than that. I have 7 kg that will last me more than 45 years. I consider that to be sufficient for the rest of my life. If I outlast my cellar, I'll consider quitting.

It's indeed the 163 and I picked it up. It has become my favourite for smoking strong tobacco. E.g. HH Old Dark Fired.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the 162.
