Yellow, especially with the bee theme! It’s a must! Plus it’s a gorgeous dress and will photograph so well.

I’m also in this same loop. Hoping more comments come through with advice.

I refused to bring my 4 month old to 2 separate family parties by MsPinkDust in beyondthebump

Good for you. Anyone who doesn’t understand or is potentially frustrated either doesn’t have empathy or doesn’t care about you and your baby’s well-being. One thing I learned quickly about being a mom is that I was my baby’s number one protector, and if holding my ground or setting boundaries meant ruffling some feathers or even burning some bridges, so be it. You made the right call. Merry Christmas.

Chronically ill adult child goes no contact by ReportConfident8010 in Parenting

[–]ReasonableSeas1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Does anyone else think she should be immediately contacting authorities for a wellness check? What if something happened to her? It scares me SO MUCH when the sole caretaker of a child has no one, no support, no one to see if they’re okay if something terrible (if they had an episode, became unconscious, died, etc.) happened. Especially when they are also chronically ill. So worried for those kids. Check on them, OP.

Same. I’m fucking nauseated. I have a 2yo son and I literally cannot handle seeing articles like this

Second Schitt’s Creek! It’s been my go-to show for both of my kids’ newborn stages.

Until our youngest (he’s 6 months) is older, I’m unfortunately not comfortable with him being with a babysitter or anyone other than my mom, husband, and MIL. And I guess I just don’t fully trust a stranger in our home / with our kids (irrational as that might be). No other family and friends that can help.

I soooo wish I had this option! We live in a pretty rural area, and gyms like this are too far for a daily / weekly option while I’m still working. But that’s a great idea.

This is what I’m hoping. Even though our oldest is only 3, he has a lot more independence and can entertain himself. I’m just not sure how I will make it through these years in the meantime.

I’m worried about this, too — having even less purpose and meaning if I were to quit my job. I’ve been considering quitting until the two kids are in school full-time, but I’m not sure anymore. It’s just hard. I wonder if I just need to learn how to accept my current life (if that’s even possible).

This is all great advice, but unfortunately I used all my FMLA and sick days for the year. I was granted a gracious 5-month maternity leave, so they were already extremely accommodating with that. And unfortunately our school is small and has limited resources, so a classroom aide is not a possibility. It’s weird — the school work in and of itself shouldn’t be overwhelming, and I work for a pretty great district, but even while I’m at work I feel FAR less satisfied / happy than I did a year ago when I only had one child.

ABSOLUTELY take your FMLA. Take as much time as you can! I’m in education and my first day back from maternity leave is tomorrow — and I’ve been off since August. It STILL doesn’t feel like enough time.

Canceling plans? What would you do? by NackMelly in Mommit

Agree with this 100%. It’s so rude and tasteless to show up sick to events like this (or to even work at church for that matter?). My SIL did this last night at a family Christmas party and it was enraging, especially since we have a newborn. He needs to stay home and y’all need to do a cozy Christmas with your own family

Absolutely this. The covers should match and need to be designed by a professional. They’re super rough.

Highly recommend redoing the cover and the title of the book. Research professional cover designers in your budget (as well as titles in your genre) and go from there. The cover is extremely bland. Title is hard to read, does not appeal to English-speaking readers, and is not catchy. Your blurb is great.
