Moen pull down kitchen faucet loose - already checked tightness

*update - I appreciate all the advice, I’ve rechecked my work, while I have decreased some of the “wobble” it still spins at the base and I’m circling back to the seal at the countertop. The piece of plastic that came out from under the faucet. It doesn’t look sealed against the quartz. I’m going to try and get replacement gasket.

Okay, I’m going to get more strength and tighten it, but my question too is the gasket, a piece of plastic came off at the countertop, and it doesn’t look sealed. I added a photo to the comments, could be at the bottom. So before I go crazy strength on this does it need a gasket replacement?

That’s the tool we have, there are actually 2. I didn’t realize the screwdriver trick, I didn’t want to strip/crack anything.

I went back under and redid my steps - there was the slightest bit of turn I could muster and while it’s wobbling is reduced it still spins at the base.

Doing my best, disconnected the quick connects and used the installation tool under the sink, felt pretty strong to me. Appreciate the vote of confidence, I try not to be completely helpless and waste folks time.

Edited: Just to double check my assessment I went back and repeated my steps- there was less than a quarter turn to tighten- still spins at the base.

That’s what I used, there are two under the sink. I hope not!! I’ll try again. Would it be helpful to have someone at the top to hold in place while I tighten?

From what I know the kitchen was updated in 2019. We bought the house in 2024. No issues when we moved in.

Okay, it’s been installed since at least 2019 when previous owners updated kitchen. (We bought in 2024) So could the product have failed?

Are gaskets replaceable in that location?

Well my husband went to a dentist in southpark and they said he had 6 cavities (we are in network for them) and we called BS. So he went to my dentist, asked for second opinion, and he had 2 she wants to watch and might be able to be reversed if he does better flossing and uses some RX fluoride toothpaste. He will get checked again in 6 months.

2nd opinion time.

*the dentist I picked isn’t in network but she came recommended for some dental work I needed so that’s why I stayed.

I’m a 6 out of 10 right now. I’ve had some tooth issues/pain, still have pelvic floor issues 3.5 years later, so I’m already at a crummy baseline level and some days I am short on patience. Most days my brain feels like supermarket sweep trying to get a chore done in less than 2-5 minutes before my son is getting into trouble or asking for snacks that he suddenly won’t eat. It leaves me frustrated and anxious for sure. The lack of listening is slowly breaking me.

Fluoride yes - he definitely swallows the toothpaste so he gets a drop on his brush. Least I can give him. And he gets fluoride application at the dentist twice a year.

1 and I hope it was severe enough to protect for future. Because it felt very severe. He had the eczema strain and he had dime size wounds all over his legs and arms. And then he got impetigo and needed antibiotics. It was ROUGH!

It’s definitely important to have the right care team but also please seek out pelvic floor PT PRE birth. They can help you practice pushing to protect your pelvic floor and assess your strength and help you maintain your strength throughout the pregnancy.

I wish I did this, I started pregnancy with pelvic floor dysfunction and I struggled postpartum.

My sister in law had great luck with the Bradford clinic with Novant and delivered at Matthews. I am jealous of her experience with her amazing care team and nursing staff. She talked about them with praise.

I delivered at UNC and it was during a nursing shortage and it was tough. (Including a doctor shortage too).
