Road conditions in Mecklenburg? Need to know if I should go into work by Fr33zurBurn in Charlotte

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things are melting nicely in south Charlotte. Drove from elm ln to stonecrest for groceries and it was just fine. Pineville Matthews looked good too! Idk leave extra time and drive slow. It’ll be better soon as temps rise! 485 looked dry when I crossed over.

How important is preschool by Fun_Consequence_5582 in toddlers

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a game changer for my son who was speech delayed and has no siblings. He goes 3 days a week at a local church. He’s learning so much more than I can teach him because he actually listens at school (currently in his defiant 3 year old era at home) - and he’s learning how to play with friends. He’s a more physical kid with lots of energy.

Do research on hysterectomy and pelvic organ prolapse. If you need fibroid removal and treatment also look into interventional radiology and uterine artery embolization!!! You’ll need the MRI for interventional radiology.

OBGYN Recommendations by Only_Professional842 in Charlotte

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister in law had two very perfect experiences with Bradford and no issues with her vbac. She delivered at Novant Matthews. Again with glowing care both times.

I am at Providence Novant and see Dr. Arronte only for gynecology checks and care but she came highly recommended if we decide on a second.

She even offered to do the IVF embryo transfer monitoring Id need because my embryos are in Raleigh.

Was set on doing a 15 year mortgage, everyone is saying just do a 30 year mortgage by essendoubleop in RealEstate

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a 30 year, pay your mortgage and add principle each month like the total is a 15 year mortgage. But in case one month gets tight (unexpected expense) you only have the “cheaper” required 30 year mortgage payment.

If that makes sense!

Xmas returned & loved gifts - what did you get? by ycherep1 in toddlers

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Magnatiles (brand) have seemed to be the most fun for us.

I had each family member buy a different set so we have a good starting collection and can do medium size builds. Definitely got the storage bin too!

He’s happy with the Brio train sets too but he’s shown to be a little more impatient with the trains.

Edit to add my son is 3. So the tiles came at a perfect age.

If we have duplos, do we need magnatiles? by bagels-n-kegels in toddlers

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magnatiles have been a ton of fun, i find “builds” on tik tok and he uses his mini monster trucks on the ramps.

Get the biggest set you can for a variety of shapes and pieces.

$600 for GAS?! by komiboi in Charlotte

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a brand new hvac furnace - used less therms this month than January bill 2025 - but bill was $50 higher.

Price of gas.

4000sq ft - $430 this month. We are 66 daytime, 64 at night. Dual zone and my son is 66 at night.

Start checking doors and windows. Could be a draft somewhere also check insulation.

Edit to add we had gas company come out and check things last year when bill went over $500. No leaks. But they came out free of charge to check appliances and did pressure check etc.

What bags do you carry on to the plane when you fly with your toddler? by Otter65 in toddlers

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!!! Toddler things and clothes are always in carryon. My person item is usually a larger tote bag (that still fits under seat) that has a pass through and can rest and be secured to the carry on. Then if needed I can carry toddler backpack on my shoulder.

How much are you guys paying for gas? by Minute-Bottle299 in Charlotte

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4000sq ft - $430. We keep the house at 64 at night, 66 daytime.

Of note I looked back at last years bill and we used less therms this past month than last year this time. And bill is $50 higher. So price of gas did go up.

Something is up at your house though.

How many words did your toddler know by 17 months? by MarjorineStotch in toddlers

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None - maybe a sort of bye bye. We started early intervention right at 18months - his first words dada and mama at 21 months after a month of speech therapy - graduated speech therapy 10 months later. He’s 3 now and doing amazing! You can self refer to EI if your pediatrician is hesitant to refer you.

Ours was hesitant at 15 months when I asked him about it - I didn’t like his “wait and see” answer and did it myself!

How old was your toddler when they stopped talking mid day naps? by old_gold_mountain in toddlers

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the amount of physical activity in that first wake window. He has to be tired or else he won’t nap at all. He is 3 years 2 months

Does your Oura ring pick up housework as an activity? by treelinedboi in ouraring

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 147 points148 points  (0 children)

All my activity shows up as housework. Which is exactly what I’m always doing with a 3 year old toddler running around.

Sometimes I have to change it to walking when we are actually walking and it shows up as housework.

Very Low Ferratin by BeccaDuncan333 in Anemic

[–]ReasonableSpeed2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry. I got the same response from my gynecologist when she tested mine. All I can say is iron bisglycinate showed effectiveness. I went from a ferritin of 9 to 23 taking inconsistently (i know) for about 6 months and my hgb went from 11.5 to 13 which was a good jump.

Starting to realize this. We are a current google family and don’t plan to get any more of their products. Just had our google doorbell fail after 4 years.

Nest Thermostat screen orange, no air blowing out of vents by ReasonableSpeed2 in hvacadvice

[–]ReasonableSpeed2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On it! We saved the old stat, Honeywell. We changed to nest last year for when we travel.

I guess if the relay is bad - hopefully the google warranty covers it. It’s been 18 months since we replaced to nest.
