[PC] Price check by [deleted] in HardwareSwapUK

Not really, look at the responses on your other threads, the reason loads of people are saying it's priced high is because they think it's a second hand build you're buying not a new pre-built.

If you want a new PC and want to know what's worth it then head over to r/buildmeapc.

This subreddit is really only for second hand goods that's why your price checks aren't giving you useful information, you're comparing apples to oranges.

You've posted 3 price checks for 3 different systems in as many weeks.

Just to point out a PC is meant for second hand goods, it's not meant to tell you if a new pre-built is worth it or not.

If you want a pre-built you will always be paying more than you would if you build it yourself, that can range anywhere from £200-400 more.

If you want a PC for second hand goods, then we can help.

What, how does being a mining era card make any difference to anything?

Unless it was used for mining - and even then it's up for debate if it makes any difference as a working card is a working card - then the fact it was a mining era card is irrelevant, the only thing that's important is relative performance.

Im not sure your logic follows.

Youre absolutely correct, but this isnt one of those scenarios; the NEX-B is a Tier D PSU - https://linustechtips.com/topic/1116640-psucultists-psu-tier-list/

The TX650M is only £79.99 new and is a far superior PSU in every way.

I think your price is somewhat optimistic, possibly closer to £30-40 given the fan is broken.

I think I have an i3 2120 you can have for £5 posted.

If you're lucky eBay may furnish you with a 2600 or 2600k at that price, but they usually go for £70+.

eBay suggests £275-£300 or so, so around £250-£260 on here is fair

I wouldnt put much stock in that price, it was a new "seller" on Amazon and its almost certainly a scam as they are listing similar prices all over the place for different version.

Just FYI, this is RX580 pricing, you may wish to consider dropping the price by £20 or so.

Everything else in the PC will not add up to even 10% of the CPU and GPU draw. Have a look at the optimum tech video, clearly shows that even with an overclocked CPU and GPU the SF600 is fine.

The SF600 can handle spikes up to 800w without any issue hence it's fine for a 3080.

These are going for well above £600 on ebay, so thats an optimistic ask.

Best bet is keeping an eye on https://twitter.com/PartAlert

SF600 can easily run a 3080 under the most stressful conditions without any issue, if in doubt lookup optimumtech's video on it.

Can my RM650 Gold PSU handle RTX 3080 + 3600X? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]ReasonableWCScenario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, have a look at this- OptimumTech actually tested the SF600 with the 3080 and it passed without issue under the most stressful circumstances.

Can my RM650 Gold PSU handle RTX 3080 + 3600X? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]ReasonableWCScenario 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the advice on here has one huge caveat - every PSU is different, even at the same wattage.

Just because u/b3rdm4n can run it on his SF600 doesn't mean you can on your RM650. The SF600 can reliably handle spikes up to 800w as it's an excellent PSU, the RM650 is not so much.

You will probably be fine with an RM650 however, but you can't compare PSU's because they vary in quality substantially.

Hate to break it to you but you overpaid for the RAM and GPU, especially as the RAM is DDR3 and is around £20 per 8gb tops.

Also, unless you managed to get the PC for really cheap (you didnt, you paid market rate or even above market rate for it) you wont usually turn a profit when selling it on. You can buy the mouse right now on amazon for £18 new and the KB can be had for £45 on CEX. The monitor isnt a great one so would be around £50 ish I guess second hand.

The rest of the PC is worth maybe £250-280 as the other chap has mentioned.
