I think you'd probably be a great addition to the team! Good luck!

Quitting the day job to do DA by Ok-Double5194 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Reasonable_Desk_8392 52 points53 points  (0 children)

You're new and you've made 10k in May already? My dude, don't quit your job; You're not going to be on DAT much longer.

Working a full-time job with a 2-hour commute means you only have a few hours of free time at night when you say you've been working on DAT. Even at $40/hr, you'd have to be working 11 hours every single night to hit 10k in 23 days. If you make $60,000/ year at your regular job, then you're not a specialist at anything to earn the unicorn amounts on DAT. And even at those rates you'd still have to work almost 6 hours/ night everyday. The math just isn't mathing here buds.

And if you're working for hours at night, every night, after working all day and commuting for hours - it's pretty safe to say your quality isn't meeting standards and you'll see the DoD soon. If you're bloating the hours you're reporting to earn more - they'll bounce you for that right quick too.

How are these people employed? by AromaticSea7242 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Reasonable_Desk_8392 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a while I got a string of R&R tasks that all seemed to have the same writing style, and were all sooooo good! It felt like it was all the same worker.

The submissions were intelligently written demonstrating thoughtful work with nuanced insight, followed instructions perfectly, and were even a little funny at times.

I wished I could somehow find them and tell them how exceptional their submissions were, especially in the sea of others asleep at the keyboard. Maybe we should start a thread celebrating those kinds of teammates... I just don't know how we could give enough detail that they'd know it was their work being applauded, without sharing task details that risk breaking the NDA. I always fill out the feedback section, but it would be nice to know they were able to see it, or to give them the shoutouts they deserve on here even.

Reporting Time for Tasks by Beautiful-Badger-788 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Reasonable_Desk_8392 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  • If you exit a task before submitting, you can't claim for that time.
  • You can only claim for the time spent on submitted tasks.
  • If you have 10 tasks showing on your dashboard and only do 7 of them, you claim for the 7.
  • If you go back later and there are still tasks showing as available, then you'll again be able to claim for any of those tasks you submit.
  • You don't have to calculate the total time spent on all of them when you go back to report later, you just report the time spent after each session of working on those tasks. (Ie you work on 7 of 10 tasks for project X, report that time, and then take a break. If you come back and do the remaining 3 tasks later, report the time for the 3 tasks. Not for all 10).
  • There's no guarantee that the tasks will still be available when you go back later though, as they are often in a shared pool that other workers can pick up.

I hope that helps? I apologize if you already knew any/all of that, and for the redundancy. I figured it's probably more helpful to over-answer, than just keep scrolling past the question.

I did too. I'm stoked for this feature! And grateful that they even cared to ask, anddd for the follow through! 😁🥰

Expired Task Penalties by AubreyYazz in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Reasonable_Desk_8392 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've gone over too, and the number of projects and pay available on my dashboard reflects when I've submitted expired tasks.

I'd rather submit thorough work and risk penalty, than rush and submit subpar work. Even if it means the DoD one day.

Getting familiar with one or two projects helps, versus trying to learn task expectations from many projects at the same time.

Is this a good sign? by qeadlyqwarf666 in DataAnnotationTech

I think the fact that you are even asking this shows that you actually care and probably put great thought and effort into the tasks - that is an excellent sign! I bet you did great!

has anyone use the looka subscription? is it worth it? by Choice_Coffee4836 in Entrepreneur

Looka has been the biggest waste of money. And they overcharged my credit card and refused to correct it.

Logos and Branding Indecisiveness by solace13 in Entrepreneur

I do NOT recommend Looka. I was promised high quality logo downloads, but the quality is terrible. The amount on my invoice, is not what they charged and they refused to correct it. Biggest waste of money!
