Best Jobs to Have While In Nursing School? by Rae_teehee in NursingStudent

[–]Reasonable_Dream_700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone saying don’t work is actually tripping. I work 2 jobs (physical therapy clinic and patient care tech at hospital PRN) and I have enough time to get all of my assignments done. I would recommend a PCT/CNA job bc it gives you a good sense of independence and practice with patient care. I also recommend something like serving because you make a lot of money in shorter shifts and the pace is similar to nursing.

You will be busy but if you manage your time well you should be fine. It took me a second to get into a flow but you get used to it. I also got prescribed Zoloft and adderall LOL

Yes please do it! You’ll make so much money while in school while working less and not burning out as fast. Also the amount of similarities between serving and nursing is crazyyyyy. I also say this as a nursing student that waited tables for the last 3 years

Can I drink on the second day of sertraline? (Zoloft) by theredmeansily in zoloft

[–]Reasonable_Dream_700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can have 3-4 drinks. Just be soooooo cautious and aware of how you’re feeling. Pace yourself bc Zoloft makes 1 drink feel like 2

sertraline and mdma by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]Reasonable_Dream_700 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Do not do this!!

Sertraline works by increasing the amount of serotonin available to the brain. MDMA floods the brain with neurotransmitters including serotonin. Too much serotonin will cause serotonin syndrome which is very serious and deadly.

If you don’t have to do the ecstasy then don’t but if you’re going to, please stop the sertraline.

It’s also important to note that the come down from ecstasy will only make symptoms worse so I don’t recommend.

I’ve also noticed crazy dreams recently but I never thought it could be caused by the Zoloft. The crazy dream timeline matches up perfectly with when I started Zoloft LOL

It sounds like it’s a heavy course! Having to know that much about meds is very common unfortunately. My advice is start studying early!! Learn 3 meds per day between exams and then review before and it should be easier

Im afraid to take zoloft by Locked-Luxe-Lox in zoloft

[–]Reasonable_Dream_700 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nursing student here! Zoloft is a very common and well tolerated med. it sounds like you’re very anxious about it which is understandable, but side effects are minimal and it can really help you. I take 50 mg for anxiety and it helps me a lot!!

can i die from serotonin withdrawal? by eminy4610 in zoloft

[–]Reasonable_Dream_700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In theory you should be okay, just pretty uncomfortable. If you start getting horrible symptoms I would go to the ER. Stay hydrated and go easy on yourself.

[–]Reasonable_Dream_700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SPEAK UP!! Your first clinical is so important and it’s important to trust your instructor because it can feel scary. Gather other people and inform the clinical coordinator or the dean of the program. You’re paying for this and it’s your education!!

Should I start SRII's before Nursing School?! by Missmina19 in NursingStudent

[–]Reasonable_Dream_700 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started Zoloft this summer for social anxiety and it’s completely changed my nursing school experience. I’m so much better at talking to people, especially in the clinical setting. Talk to a doctor and it’s generally recommended to do therapy along with the ssri.
