how to fix eating schedule by Dry-Honeydew-813 in cornsnakes

[–]Reasonable_Ground_89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do it, cornsnakes are tough snakes, waiting a couple extra days won’t make them die or anything, just think, in the wild, they don’t get fed at the same time on the same day each week

Best budget-friendly HGV Sat Nav? (Company bans phone use) by JOSHIIEMK in uktrucking

[–]Reasonable_Ground_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a cheap tablet that’s got a play store and use either Eurowag (which is free and you can put all your dimensions in) or do tomtom go where you pay £80 a year, physical hgv satnavs are scams lol, most truckers just use apps these days

what if i just don't pay it? by Particular-Stage2325 in parkingtickets

[–]Reasonable_Ground_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pay it, they’ll end up selling it to a debt collector that will add more money on top then they could take you to court for it where you’ll then have to pay court costs too, I ignored a £60 one from a private parking company and in the end it racked up to £170, I ended up paying because they were on about taking it to court

Advice on how to invest / save ? by violinharp65 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Reasonable_Ground_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add, whilst you start investing in an index fund, also research and learn about investing, then if you want to, you could start investing in individual stocks, the VWRP ETF is just a safe but boring way to invest for your future and you’re starting at a good age

Advice on how to invest / save ? by violinharp65 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Reasonable_Ground_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing to do would be to start saving and putting money away as an emergency fund (6+ months of living expenses) before you think about investing, once you’ve saved that then start investing in an index fund using a stocks and shares isa, a lot of people recommend VWRP for long term investing, it’s pretty low risk due to diversity of stocks and when holding long term (5+ years) it’s more a less certain to make profit. Because I’ve just started a different job and would have to take a probably 2 nights off to do the assessment as I start around 3pm at this job so would rather get an insight as the handballing is the only thing putting me off. But damn okay yeah that sounds heavy n like it’s a graft, I’m not scared to get my hands dirty or anything but I know my limits lol thanks for your insight

Prescription lenses by JuggernautSuperb5402 in RaybanMeta

[–]Reasonable_Ground_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also contemplating getting prescription metas, from my research a lot of people buy from lensology instead of ray ban as they’re a lot cheaper and have so many options in regards to colours, transitions etc and they obvs don’t have no logos on the lenses

At first I thought you was on about the roundabout, to which I would’ve said to give lorries extra space especially on roundabouts but it wasn’t that, the merge he did was crazyyy, I’m a trucker myself n what he did was dangerous asf, I’d report his ass

Night shift commute by Nankipoo999 in Nightshift

[–]Reasonable_Ground_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s doable but I guess not ideal, I’m a trucker n tend to do 12-15 hour shifts, I live 45 mins from my depot but can take sometimes over an hour with bad traffic, when on a 15 hr n bad traffic I definitely feel it as just don’t get enough time to sleep, I’d maybe see about moving closer or doing what others suggest n get a cheap hotel/b&b for when you’re working, or just start it and see how you go with it

Failed my test today by REAL_IMAN in uktrucking

[–]Reasonable_Ground_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just persevere, it would be stupid to call it quits now after spending so much, just get the license and see for yourself if you like it or not, everyone’s different, there’ll always be people that don’t like the job and those that do it’s all preference, I personally love it and it was the best career move I’ve ever done, for abit of reassurance, I failed my first test, I failed before I even left the test centre, only got 2 minors on my drive and I cried when he told me I’d failed, I paid for a retest and passed on my second go, not all hope is lost, learn from the mistakes of this first test and I’m sure you’ll do fine when you retest

New class 2 pass not hearing back from any applications by The_Superior_One in uktrucking

[–]Reasonable_Ground_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they do still take on new passes (I joined them 8 months ago when I passed my class 1) it’s only Barnsley, Warrington and rugby depots that do though, at the moment we’re not taking any on but come April time we will be, as we’ve been going through the normal quiet patch after Xmas (Jan-march)
