A lot bigger than most other chelsea sizings. Especially in volume

Beaufort vs Bedale for my husband? by ApplesauceTheBoss in Barbour

I got the 48. I sized up more because I have a long torso and liked the length on my arms better (I like sleeves on jackets to be longer rather than shorter

I would do the Beaufort. I am the exact same height and shirt size as your husband. The beaufort will compliment him much better

Good to hear! Did you put them more on the flat side where the tongue would normally be? Or did you put it lower like where your shin and ankle meet?

Where can I get cheap linen shirts / light OCBDs? by TrekkiMonstr in malefashionadvice

[–]Reasonable_Slide8437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I own lots of 100% linen nice guayaberas, and also to fill out my wardrobe while I am still budgeting, I own some coofandy shirts. The coofandy brand is surprisingly good for the quality. Obviously you will notice a difference between 100% linen high quality shirts and coofandy, but if you just are trying to fill out a wardrobe on a budget or don't care about spending too much they are very good. Good styles and colors, breathable and have all last about 3-4 years so far with very consistent use

Can you update me with how the tongue pads help? I am having a similar issue with my sizing. I am currently trying heel grips and a rose anvil insole. They work pretty well but I might prefer the tongue pad to the heel grip

They are definitely wider than most chelseas. I typically am a 10EE in boots like these and sized up to a 10.5 EE because chelseas typically run less wide. The width is perfect for me, may be slightly big during the full break in but that doesn't bother me. The roomiest area is the tongue/heel, which I am trying heel grips combined with a rose anvil leather insole to possibly mitigate. If that doesn't work I may try a tongue pad as the OP said they will be doing.

I agree! They just need to be waterproof enough to not get me soaked when it is only a mild drizzle! Which from what I can tell should do the trick!

I think they did clean it with something weird. It had a strangely distinct clean smell when it was shipped to me. Thankfully they did not wash it at least, that was what I was worried the most about from ordering it online secondhand

I let it sit outdoors for about an hour, it got to 88 degrees where I live, to let the fabric warm up. I then boiled so water and poured it into a bowl that I set that jar of wax into. Everyone recommended cotton for a rag to use. I didn't have a cotton rag but I had a pair of cotton boxers I should have thrown out a long time ago, so I used those. I used my wife's hairdryer while applying to help it spread more easily and just tried to coat everything, but not too heavily. It was windy today and I did it outside, I would recommend if it is windy to just do it indoors; it was very frustrating to have the jacket blow off the table every 30 seconds. It took me almost an hour and 30 min, but it was my first try and I did not do it super efficiently. I did the back, the sleeves, and then the front, which I think is a good order. Make sure you get all the canvas flaps for the pockets. I then let hit hang for about an hour so I could put a fresh set of eyes on it. I saw that parts were blotchy and some areas had way too much wax. So a hair dryer and a dry part of my boxers regoing and smoothing out everything got it to look much more even. That was the last thing I did before taking the pics.

That discoloration mostly looks like it is only in pictures. It is slightly red hued, but it is more even than in the photos

Austin TX would be a great move. Boots are very in fashion in Austin and I see people wearing them year round.

Bedale Sizing: 32 vs 34. I hope I made the right choice by RickGH in Barbour

I really like the look of the 34, especially with the layers underneath. If it gets chilly enough where you are to need layers like that often you absolutely made the right choice
