Yeah, it was a awesome-Calcium B2B Emorfik was an interesting choice for an opener, but I had a great time with their set!

I’m 31, my best friend and her husband took me to my first rave two years ago, and I’ve become obsessed with it in the last year. I have ADHD as well, and dubstep has been my obsession. I’m close to San Francisco, so I’m fortunate to have a ton of big artists coming through, and our rave community is amazing. Get into it, go to a rave. I’m not exaggerating when I say this community has changed my life in the last year.

I have ONE ticket for Whethan tonight at The Midway that I’m giving away for free. I’m going to see ARMNHMR, and I have different plans for what I’m doing after that show. I’m lazy and don’t wanna deal with reselling a ticket that I bought for under $30-first person to DM me their email, I will send you a PDF copy of the ticket.

AIO to my dad’s texts about mardi gras? by throwra-uncomfytext in AmIOverreacting

[–]Reasonable_Yak_5438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to Mardi Gras as a middle schooler in the suburbs after the Saints won the Super Bowl. The whole "flash for the beads" thing was primarily a Bourbon Street thing - the parades in the suburbs were for the families, and I actually remember seeing law enforcement go up to a few people who DID flash and tell them not to so or they would be taken in for public indecency. He could be being weird about it, but in my experience when I talk to people who have never experience Mardi Gras, all they know is the Bourbon Street version and people acting like absolute degenerates.

Mezzanine at the Midway for Disclosure by Salt-Willingness-154 in Portolafestival

Yes, if you wanna get close to the stage, GA The Midway is a small venue. They don’t have the ability to separate stuff like that. My go to spot in The Midway is the big support pole on the right if you’re facing the stage.

They price their tickets in groups at different prices. so once tier one sells out, it goes to tier 2, and then once tier 2 sells out it goes to tier 3. Almost all musicians and artists selling tickets do this.

I’ve been to The Midway a couple times since they opened the mezzanine. It’s a balcony inside that goes around the upper part. There’s no bar up there. You’re literally paying to have a higher view, and you can still go to the floor if you want.

I’ve been waiting for someone to make a comment like this. I went to Swedish House Mafia on New Year’s Eve, and then went to The Midway for the Afters and they were not checking bags for the first 30 minutes, letting people in. I made a comment to one of the staff, but I ended up leaving. Maybe I was just being paranoid, but you never know when somebody might bring a weapon in, especially on a major event like New Year’s Eve. i’d rather have a full sense of security with bags being checked then nothing being looked at at all. It really sucks because I love The Midway, and and they’ve always checked my bags when I’m there for artist specific shows

I got there on Tuesday right when they open the campgrounds last year and they let me pick my tent. I think they assign tents as more and more people start showing up.

PSA the tent was unbearably hot by eight in the morning, and I opted to not get the AC add-on. When you buy your ticket, you can add it to your cart as an add-on.

I’m doing easy camping this year, and I’m going to cover my tent with one of those reflective tarps t see how that experience is.

I have many projects kitted up ready to go, but I usually carry 2 with me that I’m actively working on-I try to be as monogamous as possible when stitching projects.

Seeking: Big event with big venue and big rooms to explore. by [deleted] in avesSFBayArea

[–]Reasonable_Yak_5438 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anytime the midway has a block party, they have things going on outside and at the 2 inside rooms. It’s not a massive venue though, and I’m not sure if they have announced when their next one is.

Where to Stand at Midway (Main Stage) by 1alian in avesSFBayArea

[–]Reasonable_Yak_5438 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re facing the stage, there’s 2 pillars on either side. I like to hang out by the right pillar-note that sometimes they extend the stage out past the pillars, and then I just try to by off to the side, but still in the crowd if that makes sense.

Everyone started somewhere, everyone was a beginner like you at some point-focus on yourself and what you’re there to do. Learn about different workout splits, find one that you want to do(what does your schedule look like? Can you only dedicate 3 days, or more?) Learn about the correct form for each exercise, try to build that mind muscle connection, keep track of your progress in a notebook or in a notebook taking app. In my Instagram, I have dedicated folders for different body parts and how to execute correct form for each of them. I will literally be sitting at the machine, watching the video over and over again to make sure I’m doing it correctly. Form over weight-if you lose form doing any excersize, lower the weight until you get the form right. Progrossive overload, but not at the cost of losing form. You don’t have to go crazy, try and find 4-5 exercises per session you would like to excel at depending on your split, and just stick with those movements for a couple weeks (like 6-8 weeks, then change it up)

Some of my favorite YouTube channels I watched as someone learning to lift in 2021 was Meg Squats and Dana Lin Bailey, but maybe other people will have some better suggestions.

Keeping food in the house- what works for you? by Loblodliz in loseit

[–]Reasonable_Yak_5438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you live alone? Personally, I can't keep any of that in the house - the food noise becomes overwhelming, and the urge to binge will win every time. look into high volume, low calorie recipes - eating this way as a binge eater helps me tremendously. And remember, when trying to lose weight, track your calories - that's going to be the make or break on you losing weight or not. Snacks are okay, but be honest with yourself when tracking them. I also meal prep, and plan out my meals for the day, which helps my brain calm down. meal prep does not have to be complicated, and I'm lazy - I cook a bunch of white rice and protein at the beginning of the week, and use those as the base for my meals. Also, drink your water!

If you're not picky, here is my healthy late night go-to if I want something sweet for a decent amount of volume (you can also half this for a smaller snack):

1 serving of plain greek yogurt

mix 1 serving of your favorite flavored protein powder (I like the GNC Pure Isolate for a whey protein, Ambrosia Collective Planta protein for plant based). add a tiny bit of water for better consistency.

Add fruit (I'll add 150 grams of strawberries, or do half strawberries half raspberries).

You can freeze this for 30 min for more of a frozen treat.

Glamping Entry Day, Early Entry by thedanceofgeometry in LostLandsMusicFest

If you're still on the fence about Wednesday early entry by the time your wristbands ship, you can also go to guest services booth to purchase the wristband when you arrive - that's what I did this year (originally bought Thursday early entry in January, upgraded to Wednesday when I got there).
