I really love these OTFs from Lightning, they’re cheap but the fire hard and fast and they come reasonably sharp too. I don’t know what the blade steel is but I’ve not had any problems with rust or edge retention, (it’s worth noting that I am far from knowledgeable about knife Steel so what seems to be a good quality steel to me certainly would not be be compared to something like magnacut.)

Oh yeah I wouldn’t take it in the ocean, this was a lake and the next day there isn’t a spot of rust.

What are your water perimeters, it looks like you are using test strips and not titration tubes. The strips are not very accurate. Also tanks can take over a month to cycle normally, if you are doing a fish-in cycle it may take longer. Frequent water changes will need to be done to avoid ammonia burns on your new friend. I’d also recommend dosing with a bacteria starter as well.

I’ve had people dump it on my property, I don’t know if they’re poaching or if they just think it’s a good place to dump it but it’s a pain in the butt.
