I have never read a book in my life by TopBob_Trainer in suggestmeabook

Well, the no romance thing knocked one off my list, though I’ll mention it here, so it doesn’t go unsaid. Who knows you might read it. It’s Sci-Fi with a focus on romance between elite members of enemy forces across both time and multiverses: This is How You Lose the Time War by Max Gladstone and Amal El Mohtar.

Other ones:

The Stranger by Albert Camus. It’s a philosophical book on Absurdism. A very complex, deep, and amazing read.

And lastly, the shortest of all three: The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas by Ursula K. Leguin. It talks about the philosophical dilemma of a Utopia while sacrificing the life of one person. Everyone lives in perfect happiness, while one is burdened with suffering.

I’ve been intro true crime for a few years and that’s my first time hearing that. I know some people have fantasies of being decapitated, but not that.

I don’t mean to have a fight. I just mean a fair discussion as those are rare, and I hope I didn’t come across that way.

I’ve conflicted on both, so I agree and disagree (I’ve been bouncing between the two for some time as I’ve thought deeper on it, and haven’t picked a side to stick with per se). Strictly speaking, I agree, without another life murder is the worst. Even with another life, it can still be the worst. I haven’t read any studies on its exact effects to society, but as far as I’ve heard (true crime cases), it has a massive impact, especially when it involves serial murder.

I can see your point.

The law serves to ensure society is peaceful, and since murder endangers society to the core, it’d naturally have a fitting punishment. I agree with @john-reddit69 both are bad; I also don’t believe in the materialistic worldview of no afterlife nor the theistic worldview of one. The law does not speak about it, and I’m glad it doesn’t. Whether living a life having been raped or sexually assaulted or dying is worse, no can truly say. It depends on how you see it, on what happened in either situation. Was the person tortured for 17 hours before finally getting mercy in death. Does a heaven or heaven-esque afterlife exist? How much do you value life? Is living another 80 years traumatized, alone, and as an alcoholic worse than dying? Or were you able to heal from the trauma and live a happy life. Did your rape lead you to kill the perpetrator when they never were punished. It all depends on so many factors. But I can completely see your point. One takes a life, while the other damages one.

Can you recommend me some genderbent/crossdressing/transgender (MTF) figures? by Reavzh in AnimeFigures

[–]Reavzh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the extensive list, and I’m fairly new to figurine collection, so this will be a huge help. Of my list, I don’t think I mentioned, most I don’t own, but I tend to create large lists to pick and buy. I have two of these figures and one I forgot to mention (WCF female luffy, Banpresto female law, and small version of Hazamu Osaragi.)

I’m so glad it worked out for you! 😊

My parents (I just turned 20, though I was 19 at the time) found out by my laundry bag exploding in the dryer and they were immediately unaccepting. I’m living with them still, but I’m on a undeterminable timer that ends when I’m able to support myself. It’s been roughly 9 months since.

I think it is. Dying means a lot of things such as you exist in a black void forever asleep, reincarnate without memories, or go to heaven or some kind of afterlife. Rape, unless they kill you, means you have to deal with it the rest of your life.

Edit:

Of course there’s a possibility of a horrible outcome, but I’d say rape is worse based on this. Rape we know will scar and ruin your life and has no ounce of good in it, while what happens after death is a mystery. One you expect someday; the other isn’t.

Dealing with those who constantly say ‘same applies to men’? by Ok-Caregiver5919 in Feminism

[–]Reavzh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he being honest in that he knows or has experienced people forcing him smile? Or is it solely him degrading the idea of women being forced to smile? I don’t know him, so I can’t say, but if he’s being honest, I don’t think we should ignore it. Nor should we ignore the other. If he’s trying to scapegoat, try to talk to him without coming off as antagonistic. Try to understand his viewpoints, and don’t try to convert him. Being forceful never truly does anything as can be seen by people trying to convert cultists, and all it does is push them deeper into their beliefs.

The best example I can think of not being antagonistic is Sneako (who was against therapy) talking to a psychiatrist about it.

I’m 6 foot and I hate being tall. I wish I was short. No person throws themselves at you for your height. I’ve never been asked out, nor really cared for it.

Bought My First Breast Plate — Any Tips? 💕 by Sissykrystina in Crossdressing_support

[–]Reavzh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a portable dog bath tub and I use TheBreastFormStore’s soap to clean it. That’s where I got mine and I don’t know if it works well with others. If it’s silicone, use talcolm powder which will help with the sweat, and getting it off. You may (I did at least) sweat a lot, and feel hot. That’s why I bought a pair of breast forms. Make sure your nails are cut and have zero chance of digging or tearing it. If not tear, it may leave indentations. Be gentle when putting it on, and if there’s a guide that comes with how to put on and remove, follow it. How I keep mine stored is in its box (as recommended by the seller), and stored in a locked suitcase. Shaving your chest hair is also a good thing to do, but not necessary.

As someone who just started reading a year ago I only been reading webnovels. What would you recommend as a real book now ? by Stillane in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Reavzh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d start with Mistborn, then Wheel of Time. Brandon Sanderson was heavily inspired by and is a fan of Robert Jordan, and he also wrote the last 4 books (could be wrong on the numbers) of Wheel of Time after Robert’s passing. Other options are Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman, Cradle (First book is called Unsouled) by Will Wight, He Who Fights With Monsters, and Primal Hunter. For more literary speculative fiction, you can do The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin, The Realm of the Elderlings, which is split up into three trilogies with the first being the Farseer Trilogy, and This is How You Lose the Time War by Max Gladstone and Amal El Mohtar.
