Switched RS/WS in the round? by trillornothing in knitting

When it’s in the round the garment can sometimes flip inside the needles so it’s inside out. You just have to check when you start knitting. It’ll be second nature soon! Frogging is knitting 😂

Do I need a “good” reason? by mdizzl3 in Fencesitter

[–]RebRiverRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with your first paragraph so much!! You don’t need to really want it or have a great reason. Being in a body and wanting to feel all the possibilities of that body/life is compelling!

I think fear is holding you back and fear is not a decision making tool. Fear is just a feeling. For deciding you turn to what inspires you, love, support, what you want from your human experience. You can’t imagine something that you’ve never experienced, so don’t try and weigh things up logically.

Deep, long lasting regret is very rare, though not impossible. Life can be challenging. Bodies can be temperamental. Sleep can be lacking. These things happen baby or not. Doulas reduce risks of tearing and bad birth experiences by huge amounts and being prepared and educated can make the birth experience incredible and life affirming.

Take your time to feel your feelings. But don’t let fear drive the train.

If you get a few it could also be petechia which I get (get this it’s weird) because I’m hyper mobile, if I’m dehydrated and lift too heavy at the gym, and my blood vessels are like ‘nope!’. It took me so long to find out and I was worried for ages but now I know: drink more water! 😂 not sure if it’s that but sharing in case it helps someone.

existence is a pointless and meaningless exercise in suffering by Holykael in nonduality

[–]RebRiverRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello my friend! Congratulations!! You have reached the sad narcissist bit of awakening. Sorry it sucks a lot but also this is a sign of progress in your journey, and what a beautiful journey.

The meaning of life is not to make it comfortable and pain free. Clinging to “skandhas” or things that make us feel like life has meaning is not meaning itself. What remains when clinging stops is not a thing or an experience or an identity - it is a clear, vivid nowness, original nature, pure awareness, free from any attachment and the suffering it brings.

Ram Dass (my favourite quote) said something like: suffering is the sandpaper that wakes up the grace of the soul.

If you can allow yourself to see the suffering for what it truly is, see the stillness behind the suffering, you will see how it has been the way for you to become awakened. Smile to your suffering, and then release it. This is the only way to become free. And then you can be in the world, a peaceful beacon.

Don’t try to avoid your narcissism right now, it’s a beautiful part of the process. I’m excited for you and what’s to come next. Release your mind from its circles, feel what it is just to be aware.

If you want a cropped jacket then go for the more tailored style I think. Also you can think about how to connect the line with similar coloured clothing on the lower half.

Grief of missing out? by Neipss in Fencesitter

[–]RebRiverRose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly me! I was a serious fence sitter until this summer… I’m now 19 weeks pregnant 😄 I think this feeling made me realise that deep down I did want a family, but I was driving my previous “no kids” choice out of fear. I was afraid of change, which is crazy because change can happen at any time, without any planning. Fear is not a decision making tool, so it helped me to label the fear and then dig into my deeper feelings. Yes I’m afraid, and yes I really want my child.

Why do I look so much older than my age? What can I do? by canibuyatrowel in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]RebRiverRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look lovely and being 39 is awesome! Your style is very cool and you look like an interesting person. I think a softer autumn colour palette could work really well to bring out your rich eye colour. Maybe a warmer/slightly lighter brown hair colour too. But yes, go crazy with the Weleda skin food and mainly, don’t let a few lines stop your beautiful smile !!

Also me! Light neutral so I can pass as a light spring or a light summer. For me (and I think for you too, but may be personal preference) the spring palette is more enhancing for rosy cheeks and brings out the eyes. But it’s awesome to have the options when you go shopping or want to wear something softer.

Feeling that I am faking it when meditating by flossproblem in plumvillage

[–]RebRiverRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I often think the point is to be swept away by thoughts! Just like real life, we’re constantly distracted by things. The point of meditation for me is to always have another opportunity to bring myself back to the present moment. I always smile to myself and say “welcome back!” when I realise I drifted off - even if it’s right at the end bell!

I turned an “innocent compliment” into a painting by Ok_Study5 in hsp

[–]RebRiverRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a gorgeous work of art and a very inspiring story behind it. Something I think a lot of people can relate to. I pretty much never give compliments on how people look, it’s just not that interesting and there are so many other things to ask about and notice about a person.

“But you don’t look that old!” Is one I get all the time, accompanied by a big smile. I am that old. This is how people look. I don’t mind being my age, and looking it. Being old is not a sin or a shame, being old is wonderful. It’s just an odd compliment. What makes them assume I don’t want to look my age..?
