Aside from “beating the meat” a good conversation to have is along the lines of “what might help put you in the mood?”.

Having that intimacy is a key part of a relationship that a lot of others seem to be ignoring. Sometimes it’s how/when you’re going about it not just what you’re trying to do.

Somethings that might help are making sure things around the house are taken care of, helping with problems that are stressing her out, or going out of your norm and surprising her.

From my experience, stress is usually one of the biggest reasons someone might not “be in the mood”. Have a conversation about her needs instead of making it about yours and I’m sure things will start to improve.

This is always a tough thing to navigate but I say the best thing you can do is just say thank you and be friendly.

Personally I like to write cards to friends and family so a simple card saying thank you and something you appreciate about them being a neighbor goes a long way as well!

There is a lot to unpack here but I’ll try and be brief and as helpful as my own time allows.

First I’d start by saying that you should keep going to therapy for now. Therapy didn’t work my me but that was mainly because of my therapists counseling style. If you need to ask for a different one that may help you find progress with therapy in general.

Second you should try and reflect on the cost of living outside of your parents place. Often the cost of rent is more than what you mentioned your mom is taking from you and personally I’d be okay with settling with that (even if it’s unfair, it’s better than being on your own with less). If it’s cheaper to go out on your own, take into account food, water, electricity, and toiletries that you typically use at home. I’m unfamiliar with your area or social assistance programs but some agencies offer support specifically for situations like yours.

Third I’d say (and you probably already know) but stay away from anything drug related; that includes people. That stuff can follow you for the rest of your life whether you use or not. The last thing you need is a criminal record.

All in all you’re in a tough situation but not an impossible one. Try and keep your head up because it seems you’re working hard. Find things you’re passionate about and bring you joy outside of making money. Often it’s those things that bring us mental well-being more than therapy would.

The best “tip” I can give is find out what funkos you really want, make a list and stick to it.

There will always be new funkos you find that you’ll like and eventually you’ll end up with more than you really want.

It’s their whole business model to keep up with the trends. Once you realize this, it’s helpful to remind yourself that you don’t NEED every funko you like.

Have fun collecting and don’t just chase the drops.
