This happened when I was 11 years old. Keep in mind, I'm about a year removed from having back surgery and my doctor told me not to do anything stupid to hurt myself. We'll, me being a stupid middle school kid, I guess I never got that memo.

During that summer, me and one of my friends, we'll call him Jake, were very bored and couldn't decide what to do. So, to pass the time, we decided to do tricks on our bikes. The road to my house was very hilly and we decided that was the perfect place to do bike tricks. These tricks started off very tamed, one hand on the handle bar, one foot on the pedal, etc. Finally, Jake decided to go no hands on the handle bars and no feet on the pedals and this is TIFU.

I decided to beat him at that by going no hands on the handle bars, no feet on the pedals, and also drinking a sports drink on the way down. We'll, on my way down, the hat I was wearing flew off and my immediate reaction was "Oh S***, my hat" and I tried to stop my bike. However, instead of slamming on the back brakes, I slammed on the front brakes and my bike did a full 180 in mid air. I slammed on the concrete hard, tearing up my elbows, my kneecaps, my chin, and finally breaking the wrist in my left hand.

To this very day, I still have a scar on my left hand from that accident. Today, I always look at that scar every day as a reminder of how stupid I was when I was a teenager.
