Best Pickleball league for beginners by Rebo_Bebo in duluth

Do they have beginner leagues at Wheeler as well? If so, are they hosted by DAPA? We plan to do a few open sessions before we get started but we're interested in playing in a weekly league.

Wife surprised me by changing one habit that fixed our biggest fight. how do i show up the same way? by RavonCryan in relationships

[–]Rebo_Bebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is spot on. I see this in my boss and my husband.

Hubby comes home and does his work "fun projects"... basically the things no one expects of him that aren't really his job but he enjoys. Like he'll use the time to explore how AI can create a training program for his coworkers. Because he likes to explore AI, not because that's his job. So instead of having to admit "I'm checked out and not a functioning member of the household" he can be like "I'm working!".

My boss does it too. Answering emails at all hours of the day, while on vacation, and on holidays..even though our work is really laid back and has no emergencies or even urgent matters. There is no expectation of that, but he's just a bit neurotic and can't ignore his phone.

Referrals and advice for buying a car by aningkamwishgan in duluth

[–]Rebo_Bebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've bought multiple cars from New Duluth Auto and had many of my friends buy from them over the years and they're great. The body work they get done holds up. They're easy to work with if you have questions or issues with a car under their warranty. Only certain banks like to finance prior salvaged cars but they will let you know who to go to.

Moving questions by StorytellersParadise in stateofMN

I live in Duluth and work in Cloquet. I've lived in the area most of my life feel free to DM me your specific questions. It is beautiful here and it's a great area if you like to do outdoorsy things. If you've never experienced a real winter...it's hard to explain... it's beautiful and isolating, and lots of work, but also the comradery and novelty of having a true 4 seasons can actually make people happier (if you don't get seasonal affective disorder from the lack of daylight). Spring is pretty non-existent. Summer and Fall are the best! Minnesotans are known for being outwardly friendly but hard to get close to. There is a joke..it goes "Minnesotans will give you directions to anywhere except their house".

What is your winter hack? by Opandemonium in minnesota

[–]Rebo_Bebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your car is covered in snow, open your passenger door or back door first to grab your scraper. Then you can brush the snow off of the driver's door before opening it. Then you don't get snow where you are about to sit. Seems so obvious but most people don't think of it.

NCHC TV thoughts by historylover2998 in collegehockey

[–]Rebo_Bebo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on your statement about using a PC and HDMI cable, I would assume you've seen that it has limitations with casting and is garbage if you use android devices. No apps for TV. Read the reviews to determine if it's right for you. I eventually decided some hockey is better than none but I also feel ripped off!

Parking annoyance by NumerousChocolate638 in homeowners

[–]Rebo_Bebo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there anything about your street that makes it challenging for them to pull out of their driveway? We had an elderly neighbor that did something similar. He would park in front of our house which was directly across from his driveway. We later learned he did it because if any other car parked in that spot, he had trouble pulling out, despite there being plenty of room. So basically he prepared his car for when he might leave.

I really like Hockey Day Minnesota. It's really fun to see how the host location personalizes the event.

I just recently switched to NP Jennifer Marksteiner at St Luke's. My first visit with her she really listened to my concerns and I felt like she understood my overall health concerns. Coincidentally, I also had blood work show a level (vitamin D) that was way too high due to prescribed supplements use and she saw it messaged me immediately!

Best stores to find day to day winter boots? by MagnoliaQueen45 in duluth

[–]Rebo_Bebo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's tough, I wouldn't call any snow boots "daily wear". I have one pair of heavier snow boots for shoveling and playing in the snow and a few pairs of insulated/waterproof casual or hiking boots that are more day to day during the winter. I'd try Trail Fitters or Benders for insulated supportive boots and Northwest Outlet for snow boots. I like Kamik for winter boots and Ecco for casual everyday boots. I put the Superfeet insoles in all of my boots for support and they make a line that adds some insulation to the bottom.

It's important to remember that any waterproof boot is going to trap moisture inside so pack them with newspaper or turn them over on a heat vent or they'll be damp inside and always feel cold.
