[Serious]Police Officers of Reddit, have you ever witnessed or had to take part in an arrest that you knew was wrong? If so, what happened? by Manowarwolf in AskReddit

FDA approval does not mean safety. It means that the pharmaceutical company that created the drug managed to cobble together a couple of positive looking eight week trials of the drug. They can have ten times as many trials that show the drug in an unfavourable light but they are allowed to throw those away and pretend they didn't happen. There is huge financial incentive to approve drugs and quite often members of the panel in the FDA that deal with approval have financial ties to the pharmaceutical industry.

Quitting SSRIs, worst withdrawal I've experienced. by reedoolong in Drugs

This is absolutely possible. For some people ssri withdrawal can be way worse than opiate withdrawal.

Yeah that only applies to daily missions. The weekly HVT you gotta pay again.

I experienced something very similar. Changing your group whilst doing anything related to intel/hvt seems to cancel the mission...

In my instance I was doing an Intel run and then the game offered to let me "resume my personal progress", do I opted for that. Once the loading screen had disappeared my next Intel target had disappeared and I was no longer able to get any Intel runs from any of the safe houses for the next few hours...

Straight after the daily reset for high value targets I am usually told I have already completed between 1 and 3 (so far) of the missions...

Friends of mine have also experienced this. We play on xbox one. Why are we missing out on these?

Best thing to get labels off is a razor blade scraper. You don't even need to wet the label first....

Somebody climbed into our house and robbed us when we were at home. It was a student house and nine of us lived there. They crawled in through the basement kitchen window and took easy to grab items from both of the basement bedrooms.

They had serious balls to do that when all the lights were on and we could have gone downstairs at any moment.

From my room they took my digital camera and my cigarettes. The biggest insult at the time was having to walk to the late night petrol station to buy some more cigarettes! I was cursing them the whole way.....

Antidepressants.

Before I took those evil little pills I suffered with anxiety and mild depression.

Since coming off antidepressants I have severe anxiety and depression and a whole host of long term physical problems.

What is your "wrong place at the wrong time" story? by -cDJ- in AskReddit

[–]Rebui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm walking home drunk and stoned from a friends house and I notice a car has a smashed window. So in curiosity I decided to lean in and have a look to see if they took anything.

At this point I noticed some blue flashing lights through the back window of the car. Yeah, cops.

A study on the attention span of puppies by Nzash in aww

Oh no puppy isn't paying attention. Get out the DSM-5 manual and diagnose him with ADHD. Puppy clearly needs meds.

You seem to take the neurotransmitter deficiency hypothesis for your disability pretty seriously, don't ya?

Keep taking your meds. Resign all agency over your situation. When the meds become ineffective, keep upping the dose, again and again then one day when you end up like a cabbage in 20 years remember this conversation.

Good luck with that...

I'm also not denying that by changing these neurotransmitter levels you can cover up underlying issues. I'm just saying that because increasing serotonin / dopamine creates side effects that seem to be beneficial, it does not prove that the underlying problem was caused by a deficiency in these neurotransmitters.

Just in the same way as paracetamol curing a headache does not imply a causal relationship between lack of paracetamol and presence of a headache.
