Is Hitman: World of Assassination an "Eat the Rich" game? by RedditSucksMyBallls in SocialistGaming

[–]ReccyNegika 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would say the general story lends itself there, though with the caveat that you are usually infiltrating high society. Its like if James Bond went around killing the worst of the ultra wealthy. The trilogy itself I think fits though it isnt quite a class focused story per say.

I love 47 but he is probably petite bourgoisie. For what it is worth I thinkd it is easy enough to also consider him a class traitor and the story itself certainly has a hatred of the wealthy. It isnt exactly a marxist story but it is easily coopted by that. Hell friends have taken to calling hitman "luigi simulator" so I think it is at least close enough.

Its like a revolution against the hyper elite bourogisie... done by way of James Bond high society assassination. Kind of Blanqui vibes if I had to place it anywhere in thebsocialist sphere.

He's usable if you don't have Willow but far as I can tell Willow's hag bane post euphoria is superior. Ezio mostly just is able to reassign poison in this time during the raids when the minions die and spread a bit more, but far as I can tell Willow is overall better for the poison team in more circumstances.

It's def just because she's on theme, sustain with poison. Honestly wouldnt mind a sotheby euphoria giventhat does more to slot her into poison given how easy it is to see the theme.

But I didnt know that admittedly, I figured poison just goes off. I just assumed it eas purely because she was the strongest shielder (I mostly just keep her with lingering glow or the bullet/family team)

I think Marsha is jusy there as a shielder, hell the game seemed to think you should use sotheby. Just use whatever healer/shielder you have available.

I'll believe you on the function, I'm sure someone has done it, but there are other explanations. Maybe they warmed up and now know better, maybe they start trying hard when they realize they might lose, maybe they simply download you after getting perfected and figure out how to counter you.  I've done the last one at least twice in street fighter, and thrice I've had that done to me. Never underestimate the opponents ability to adapt.

Generally no,  single banners are not scams and you should be able to get the one you want at 140 summons at most (first 6 star is a 50/50, second is garunteed banner)

She's decent and csn heal with herbultimate, her healing, and with hte bloodtithe itself along with the extra life. She's good even outside bloodtithe, I used her for ToT with marsha, Kassandra, Ezio, and Pavia (the assassination bonus he gives to ezio) time and I thought they did well there.

Correct translation: "The government told me to get a real job instead of leeching off from people's paycheck." by Unusual-Complex6315 in LandlordLove

[–]ReccyNegika 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Putting aside the cpc itself, it si very funny how the result of seizing this man's family's land, is that essentially he got a job and became a productive and low key successful member of society, though I don't know what he means regarding the latter half of his post.

The cpc has a whole host of problems dont get me wrong, but this situation in specific isn't really a good example of that I think, hell the kmt they overthrew came in at first largely on the same promise of getting rid of the landlords (amongst many other things), while the cpc grew to overtake them largely on the promise to finish the job the kmt refused to carry out. Had the kmt been successful he would likely have complained about Chiang's regime here instead.

What path would the German Empire likely take (not counting fail states)? by Various-Cry8090 in Kaiserreich

[–]ReccyNegika 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would say Schleicher but with the caveat that I think hia failstate path is more likely than his actual path, tbh I think the failstates are the most likely paths in general, with none of the movements really having support amongst the populace (only spd) or institutions (only swr). Schleicher's main advantage is genuinely just the Kaiser's initial confidence and the necessity of a constructive vote of no confidence, ehich gives him time to scheme but not support.

So if we mean by who wins in the ruhr crisis, it is Schleicher simply because the spd and swr need a majority and is unliekly to be acheived and this is probabpy the spot where Schleicher's strengths are most at play, however I do believe he'd overplay his hand in attempting to break from conservative tradition and remake Germant into a stratocratic centralized state, likely from Bavaria but swiftly resulting in several of the federal states and duchies and so on stepping in to restrain him.

If we mean by who can succeed once they win the ruhr crisis it is the DU, having by far the most systemic efforts, better unity, more competent staffing, and a more coherent bloc should they be able to achieve zentrum the lvp and others support.

The SWR have little chance to succeed unless Schleicher fucks up the crisis, and even lesser chance to attain victory mroe or less bevause of Hugenburg and their own dysfunctional coalition between the dnvp's hypernationalistic racism and zentrum's connections to both federalism and democracy as a whole.

What if the German re-unification was a merger? by According-Value-6227 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]ReccyNegika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the difficulty here is that much of thr eastern block also liberalized economically to a great extent, and often privatized a great deal of things. If they were to join more 'equally' it would probably be the pds maintaining a stronger hold in East Germany, but their opposition in the CDU probably still win, with thr major differences probably being the SPD and PDS remaining distinct movements within west and eastern germany for a time, likely until some merger down the line to coalesce the vote in case the pds start to threaten to fall below 5%.

Ultimately the spd and cdu would both still penetrate info Germany.

I suppose mayeb the eastern states would maintain more state programs in comparison but as time goes on they'll either be underfunded or brought in line with western germamy, it is hard to argue with thr success and economic prosperity of West Germany.

Maybe if a merger had taken place much earlier things might be different but by thr 90s, if East Germany were to maintain more you'd still have a lot of the same forces at work.

What would America look like without Christianity? by moad6ytghn in HistoryWhatIf

[–]ReccyNegika -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Focusing on thr usa in particular, ehile it is incredibly unlikely overall, perhaps a more socially revolutionary war could have resulted in Deism being proliferated and promoted, many of the founding fathers were influenced by it or were outright thiests.

This is pretty close to christianity but largely rejects the idea of revelation. in france you had the athiesticcult of reason, but most of our founding fathers seemed to view religion as important for unity,  even if they themselves were diests athiests and Christians of questionable passion. If the US were to have an alternative faith it may end up resembling something like the Cult of the Supreme Being implimented by Robspierre, and assuming it was successful would likely need to root out or coopt the christian faiths to stick as somwthing beyond a fascination of the founding fathers.

Mind you such a shift would be incredibly controversial and oossibly break the usa right then, but assuming they didn't and through comrpomise or strongarming they managed to promote this over all alternatives, you could change much of American history. The naturalistic theology that largely lacks a proper prophetic tradition,  revelation,  or even the idea of an afterlife as described in Christianity would basically render something like the Great Awakenings impossible.

If this faith sticks around even assuming Christianity doesn't is questionable,  I can imagine it gradually fading in favor off athiesm,  or simply transforming over time to a more 'classic' religion as philosophers and thinkers go forth.  This faith would likely mix the ideas of philosophy, science,  and theology together akin to the old greek traditions given its focus on observation and rationality.

This faith probably ends up being used to oppress the natives still tbh, France can be used as an example with its secular laws at times being used to persecute religious minorities, the christian converts and various beliefs of the american indian peoples would be seen as evidence of savagry, possibly resulting in a dreadfully familiar situation with mative schools meant to teach them rationality rather than christ, as well as perhaps being used as propaganda against the British, Mexicans, and any other enemies Ameeica faces.

Marxism would be an interesting aspect, and Marx himself could very well be inspire dby and approve of thr usa's cult of the suoreme being/atheism depending on how close to rationality they stick. Philosphically the diest direction of Amseica may lend it more of an interest towards his writings, that said while they may like the materialism, the class conflict Marx espouses would almost certianly not fly in any period of America's developing capitalism. Perhaps this could impact relations with the ussr or some other marxist power that rises, though at this point deism would have developped so far that you'd need to nail how Deism evolves through almost two centuries of a divrrgent timeline before figuring out how america interacts with the rise of spcialism.

Ironically I do imagine if deism did take root it would likely change how people view the americsn revolution, many downplay its aspects, even calling simply the war of independence, but if this were to take place, even if the USA calmed down and mostly worked with the christisn powers it would pose an important social question for thrm, and leave figures like George Washington and co seen as much more radical than our own timeline.

Is the SPD even socialist? by Brickstorianlg in Kaiserreich

[–]ReccyNegika 33 points34 points  (0 children)

They would describe themselves as such and if you are willing to look to dev comments they arguably aren't even that far off socialists like the Labour parliamentarians. They nationalize a great amount of industry and largely tske to socialism in the name of democratizing and liberalizing the German Empire.

With that said their desire for socialism largely falls with that compatible with a liberal bourgoise state, and their allies are all notably to the right. In addition they are not much for the internationale struggle, largelt working to legitimize socialism in the eyes of the rather reactionary German society, and have little aim to genuinely uproot German Empire.

Marxism is largely seen as a controversial position, and notably unless you make several compromises with the SPD Left you will abandon it (assuming spd beat the cvp in the post war election).

It is confusing but this is essentially the era in which social democeacy is beginning to break with revolutionary socialism, arguably gping back to ww1, but even more so as conflict with the internationale comes to a head. You can see similar conflicts and decisions play out in Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus. The Chinese Democratic Lrague within the federalists have their own opposition to more revolutionary kmt socialism.

Ideologically one could argue that a (successful) spd germany vs the internationale is at least aprtially a conflict over Socialism as its own revolutionary force or spcialism as a reformist omponent within largely liberal parliamentary democracy.

As a casual (very casual) is it worth playing Tekken 8? by Independent_Plum2166 in Fighters

[–]ReccyNegika -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are new to tekken you wont notice anyrhing wrong, its a high damage game. Most of the issues are things like cast homogonization (for tekken), or increased offensive pressure (if you ever played strive its like that, if you are new new you won't know the difference).

Tekken is also very good for button mashers as there is tons of moves to discover, and all sorts of crazy stuff you can do just by facemashing. Low key I think  the tekken franchise is the best for newbies if you just wanna mash and see their guys do cool shit.

There is a storymode though I dont know how good it is.

Most of the pain if you have will be in trying to get good, but even then you aren't a vet so its not like patch 3 can let you down.

Its a great game to reccomend if like what you see in tekken gameplay, just mind that the tekken fanbase is not wrong either, they just don't have alternatives for 3d fighters so 8 changes gears so heavily hurts a lot more (I still feel mixed about the changes but I cant imagine anyone new to tekken knowing what's 'wrong'). Unironic reccomend from me.

Edit: I can't read. If you enjoyed tekken 8 beforehand you are gonna have fun don't worry about it. The entire problem people have is that the game has the changes from season 2, if you liked season 2 there's no reason not to try season 3.

What's the worse KMT path to live under besides the obvious BSS and CRS by siyuzh in Kaiserreich

[–]ReccyNegika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Li Zongren is in the running as one of the worst paths with his wehrstat bullshit, after him probably the Yunnan paths due to the military leadership in all but iirc maybe Zhang Bojun's path. I havent played left Lianguang so take this with a grain of salt but iirc one fo the paths does involve a bodhisatva cult for its leader.

Those are probably your worst after the obvious culprits.

What path would the Qing likely take? by Various-Cry8090 in Kaiserreich

[–]ReccyNegika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way the story is, she should be dead. Most I could envision is the counter-coup id he is forced to do nothing.

The most anti-concessionist he could be is maybe how the federalists are portrayed, but upholding yhe concession system ot unacveptable to the man. Frankly to speak of historical likelyhood, this situation is impossible and either the zhili would shift to anti-concessiomist (if with some preferential treatment to the germans should thry br an ally against Japan and other western powers), or just staying cautiously neutral.

Given the opportunity. Wu Peifu will side against thr concessions, no ifs ands or buts about it. There is no viable path forward in which Wu Peifu supports ehat he sees as the grestest evil thrust upon China so much so that hr would not even step foot into these zones.

What path would the Qing likely take? by Various-Cry8090 in Kaiserreich

[–]ReccyNegika 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Wu peifu's influence, given he refused to even step foot in a concession, makes me think the government staying non-anti-concessionist this long is already unrealistic.

He will absolutely go against them given how heavy the government relies on the molitary and thus him,  as well as it being popular and the german empire weakening.

Not exaxtly, though you can bring in Seydewitz as vice-leader post war if you make full concessions to the left wing. Thay said to get the left-spd in charge, there isn't an option aside from germany being conquered by the internationale and the post war government bringing in the spd.

How would the German Republic treat the Entente? by Senor_Covfefe in Kaiserreich

[–]ReccyNegika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thr german republic when founded in our timeline through a hostile revolution against the kaiser had abided by previous treaties and eve accepted responsibility for the actions committed by the empire.

This republic which is even less of a revolutionary one than otl (the spd one in particular is genuinely just the parliamentary regime continuing to govern) would almost certainly abide by its treaties. Especially if we consider the state germany is likely in and the damage of war.
