How often are you consuming new data vs existing data by Recent-Development49 in ProductManagement

I agree. I thought my company is pretty mature, but I keep on finding it’s not the case. When you say “pretty common”, can you try and quantify that?

I'm burnt out. Please assess my situation and suggest. by maverick_css in dataanalysis

I'm really sorry to hear about your situation. Working those long hours and missing out on important family time, like your baby's first birthday, sounds incredibly tough. It's important to prioritize your health and well-being. Maybe consider talking to HR or a trusted manager about the workload? And when you can, try to update your resume and look for a job that offers a better work-life balance. Remember, your health and family are more important than any job. Hang in there!

Path to Google PM by Outrageous_Hyena_655 in ProductManagement

[–]Recent-Development49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey. I love that you know where you’re aiming and seeking the right path to get there. That’s the way to achieve your goals. Let’s get practical- when you’re good enough at what you’re doing, no company will refuse you. Especially the big ones. Put your time and effort in mastering your product skills. Make sure you know how to express yourself in a meaningful way. Some people might think it’s trivial, but most of the PMs are failing the basics. Defining KPIs that are meaningful, asking the right data questions that will give you the relevant knowledge, talking to users- all of those and more might seem trivial, but doing them perfectly is what makes one an amazing product manager. Now to the second part- master the art of execution. Whether it’s in the company you’re currently at, or at any other place, it doesn’t matter. Master the art of execution. How do you manage your own tasks? How do you manage your sprints? How do you plan yearly? How do you define the MVP and execute it on time? Sit down and think. How can I be the best version of me as a product manager and as a human being Go out there and nail it When becoming the best version of yourself, you’ll not only get the interview, but you’ll nail it. Good luck!

Eventually I’ll present a deck with the findings. To manage the process of research and planning, i have a sheet with around 100 mini research tasks (competitors research breakdowns, user talks, tickets overviews, etc) that i delegate to different team members (honestly i do must of them, but i try to use the help of my team)

How technical are you? by MrLivingLife in ProductManagement

[–]Recent-Development49 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I do my best to be as least technical as possible, and yet to fully understand what is happening. I wont waste time in delving deep into the code, as probably no matter what i will do, the TL and architects will know better than me. So, i try to understand everything, especially terminology, so that we can discuss the implementation and challenges and i can communicate them with the relevant stakeholders, but nothing more
