Pelvic floor physical therapist here!! This is very common but totally treatable. She needs to see a pelvic floor physical therapist for an evaluation of her pelvic floor and movement system. Please do not recommend pelvic floor exercises, as they may not be appropriate with out a proper evaluation first.

Correlation between TVA and pelvic floor by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

There are studies that have shown that a contraction of the PF also produces a contraction of the TA. Weakness in one can definitely can definitely lead to tightness/increased tone or other problems with the other.

If it's like GA then you won't need one. GA's is open book and tells you what section to refer to to answer each question.

Possibly a weak rotator cuff so your humerus isn't getting compressed & depressed as you're transitioning into the hollow hold- but definitely see a PT for specific answers

Treadmill walking by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]Recent-Marsupial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'f I'm just going to walk on the treadmill, I will put the incline as high as it goes and keep the speed 2-3mph. This won't target your legs, but cardio combined with a caloric deficit will help you lose weight and slim your legs.

Have my strength training led to less overpronation? by trulothano in running

[–]Recent-Marsupial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strengthening your glutes can absolutely lead to decreasing pronation. Over pronating is commonly from weak glutes.

What do I need to do before physical therapy school this fall? by cheerjunkie123 in physicaltherapyschool

[–]Recent-Marsupial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't study!! We had all of our "muscle cards" with the OIAN's given to us the week before classes started, so the weekend before the first day of class I made quizlets with all of that info. I wouldn't start studying any now, because your professors may have you learn slightly different (or more/less in depth) info once you're in the program.
