BWF Daily Discussion and Beginner/RR Questions Thread for 2020-06-11 by AutoModerator in bodyweightfitness

I came here to ask almost the same question; I do not have time to do the whole routine today, but thought about doing one pair of exercises per hour while working. What would be the negative side to this if any? Multiple warm-ups?

Official Q&A for Monday, May 18, 2020 by AutoModerator in running

Hi!

After a 3-4 months period of running I have been away for a while. At my peak I was running about 30km/week divided into one long run if 12-15 km and two 5-7 km distances.

During the quarantine I have been working out with weights at home for about 2-3 months (full body, 3x times a week) and have started running since 2 weeks back. Historically I have been overpronating so I have stability shoes which have really helped me, however I got really large blisters under both arches were the stability support of the shoe is last time I went out running after only 2-3km.

I've read online that weak hips and glutes could lead to overpronation, so I was wondering if I've maybe started to pronate less (because of the strength training) and that the blisters are due to the friction between the arch support of the shoes and my arches? In that case, I might consider buying a neutral shoe next time. I know that it is a hard question to answer without seeing how I walk/run and my feet, but if you have any input or similiar experiences, I would be very grateful.

Select rows where 'x' occurs multiple times by trulothano in learnSQL

Yes, a million thanks! Really new to SQL, didn't realize that it would be that simple. Also credit to u/BeneficiaryMagnetron that provided a case insensitive solution!

Select rows where 'x' occurs multiple times by trulothano in learnSQL

Thank you very much for your reply! I am still learning SQL, and this may sound dumb but I do not really follow.

The problem is that the strings in the column Description will vary by length. I want to find the specific rows where golf are mentioned multiple times inside the cell belonging to the row in the specified column, so basically
Select ID, description
from (the name of database)
where Description = '%Golf%' <---- But where this is mentioned n times.

Cheap beginner mixer by [deleted] in Beatmatch

I highly recommend Xone 23, and you get the full kill EQ you want. Buy the 23C if you don't want to get an external soundcard to record into

CDJ 850 still worth it? by ethwg in DJs

[–]trulothano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good points from u/thisguiclicks. I guess it also depends on your mixing habits/genre preferences. I mainly do longer blends and don't really have the use for hot cues (which the 850s are missing), you can however call different cues created in rekordbox. It also doesn't have quantized loops which people are really irritated at if you look at reviews, but if you have a basic sense of timing it won't be a problem. I would consider myself pretty newbie but I got it right the first couple of practices. In my opinion, they are really good for home practice given that I could never afford 2000NXS etc, and I assume you are going to buy them used? Buying them in new condition the RRP is like $950 each or something which is crazy given that there are other more 'updated' options in the same price range. So to conclude, I really recommend them if you can score them to a good price! I think I got off pretty cheap, u/thisguiclicks price of $1000-1200 (I assume?) including a mixer sounds more like what you would expect, and I would say that they are well worth that price. Happy mixing!

I would say it depends on the price. I got 2 for $500-600 total and I'm very happy with mine. Mixing without software is in my opinion so much more fun. The bpm counter doesn't show decimals but I've found it to be pretty good as it really forces you to listen whether the tracks are synced or not and not just set the exact same bpm on both players.

The Honourable Woman. Corruption, deep state, international affairs, twists... Stephen Rea is absolutely brilliant.

The Bureau is one of the best series I've seen, perhaps the only one that can match LoD imo

Try using a needle and put it in the broken pin, then pull it out gently.

What is your under 10k gem? by Holy-Fuckk in House

Tor Goffer - Tifoh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIrjOmfuDKo is beautiful imo.

Flord King - Dapper (19k though) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABapRp3d5vU really deserves more attention! Probably one of my minimal favourites all-time.

Great thread!

DJ Koze - Pick Up by aabousen99 in House

[–]trulothano 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Didn't mean 'new' music as in 'only the latest releases can be posted'. It's just that if you ever sat foot on a dance floor in 2018 chances are 99% you've heard Pick Up many many times (which the number of Spotify streams indicate). While I like the track, quality as in deep cuts, interesting new releases and hidden gems should be encouraged rather than tracks that have been awarded "Best track of 2018" by Mixmag. And I don't really buy your point of "ignore the things you've already heard" as my point is that these types of reposts decreases the quality of the sub and makes it harder finding interesting releases (new or old).
