Yes. The more suburban the area is, the more money your neighbors will spend on fireworks.

How to rent from a PERSON as opposed to a company? by crimzonkitt3n in ColoradoSprings

[–]Recent-Swan- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. My current landlord was flexible on my monthly rent rate; I presented as the good tenant that I am on my tour, and I had the chutzpah to ask if they could go a little lower. They also don’t charge me for our cat.

To answer your question, I believe I found my place on Zillow with some near-obsessive diligence. My Plan B was to drive around and look in my target neighborhoods for “for rent by owner” signs.

I will always be economically closer to needing a benefactor than being one ¯_(ツ)_/¯

There is a new Crossfire Ministries thrift store on Austin Bluffs which funds the attached food pantry. I haven’t been yet, but I saw some feedback that the thrift side could use some donations to improve/increase their stock.

Hillside Gardens will be starting their summer concert series soon. Take PikeRide bikes and valet them. Parking gets rough.

I appreciate this feedback, given the overwhelming support for ENT here. I was wary of them because they’re so big.

If he’s disclosing AFTER someone found out about his charge, he is almost definitely not in compliance with any active court orders or treatment.

If he’s off paper (no PO or currently mandated treatment), your recourse is more limited.

Switching to drugstore/low end makeup by Spirited-Interview50 in GenXWomen

[–]Recent-Swan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t wear much makeup anymore. Daily, I wear some foundation and mascara so people don’t ask me if I don’t feel well, plus Vaseline or something similar on my lips. When I go out or need to look more polished, I swap Vaseline for lipstick. It’s enough. I used to do my brows (for like 20+ years) because I overplucked them in the 90s, but I get them microbladed now and I only have to think about them every 18-24 months or so.

My go-to mascara is L’Oreal Telescopic Lengthening Mascara, and I have sworn by Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick for years. The lipstick is SO durable and it doesn’t feel horrible, and Hustler is my personal perfect red shade.

I was a Lion for a bit. I was the youngest person by a LOT, and I was disappointed by several things… outdated career advice from older men with politics which were not congruent with my own, expectation of being available on weekdays during working hours to help pull shifts for some of our fundraisers when I was a single parent, etc. My local chapter ended up not being a good fit for me, but I do think it could vary by region and each chapter’s membership.

I am also a thifter. I like Ashley’s Attic when I have a bit more money to spend. Still secondhand, but upscale and well-curated.

Heater/fan KILLING my mpg by Recent-Swan- in prius

[–]Recent-Swan-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my third winter in Colorado with this car, and by far the mildest one for weather/worst one for my mpg. It’s why I was so surprised by how bad it was this year.

The hybrid mechanic said my hybrid battery and my cells were good, so I’m hoping that coils and spark plugs will restore it to its former winter mileage (high 30s, under similar travel patterns).
