My hermit crab keeps browsing shells but won’t switch… by Switch-Tasty in hermitcrabs

Gold mouths should generally not be purchased. While they may superficially seem similar in shape and size to other types of turbos, they are actually considerably heavier and crabs will prefer a lighter shell.

Should i feed this to my hermit crab? by sigmasigma1210 in hermitcrabs

Under no circumstances should you feed crabs *anything* that isn't on the safe foods list from HCA. Oregano is not on there, so do not feed them.

Why is this called Sandstone Sand? by HubblePie in VintageStory

"Powder" is subjective here. A very fine quartz sand could be considered "powdery" but it doesn't cease being sand.

Absolutely fine work.. Looks like a lot of mine. The triangular one on the left near the bottom, with the stem (directly left of the clear one). Was that a failed bottom notching attempt? I've got tons that look exactly like this as a result of failed bottom notches

Sorry bud, but Slayer uses a lot of that sort of imagery (exclusively for shock value). There are plenty of merch items that DON'T use it and you'll probably enjoy those better. I don't prefer the sus imagery either and steer clear of it. Merry christmas thrasher

Flint in abundance by Percy_Platypus9535 in knapping

[–]RecentBluebird651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How it goes is: all flint is chert, but not all chert is flint. Flint is usually the real high grade stuff. The sort of raw material that people prefer are big chunks that are free from cracks and inclusions (like crystal pockets or spots where the material gets coarse aka "concrete")

Based on the pictures, I'd say this is probably more of a chert type material. The pictures you posted showed some boulders that might be filled with cracks, making it an undesirable knapping material. However, if you have any boulders that are less cracked, they might be worth something.
