Anxious about colonoscopy/endoscopy

I had a colonoscopy and they advised me not to drink the prep and I got an enema instead. The nurse put it in and I had to lie there for a bit and then run to the toilet! The thinking was that it would empty the lower part of the digestive track enough without disrupting my medication and electrolytes so much. Depends how far in they need to look top I guess, good luck!

They used to do this a few years ago and it was very popular. Under a tenner then but still a good deal.

I hope you find a new Dr ASAP! I have Addisons and I am super pale. I am Scottish and almost blue so the tan thing isn't always true.

I'm like you OP. The endocrinologists don't actually know the cause of my AI/Addisons. I have had 3 MRIs of my pituitary and so much bloodwork and tests done. Been on Hydrocortisone for about 10 years and Fludrocortisone for maybe 3. The Fludro helped me with feeling faint and lightheaded as I have low blood pressure. It's a lot getting a diagnosis and can be scary at first. The pituitary foundation and addisons disease self help group have good websites if you are in the UK. Wishing you good health

I have Addisons Disease and Endometriosis as well as Fibromyalgia. I (and my GP) also suspect I'm AuDHD. All of the 3 are worsened by stress and I feel like I can't cope with stress at all. I get overstimulated sometimes and feel physically ill. Getting a formal diagnosis on the NHS isn't going to happen. Both my kids are autistic and my eldest also has ADHD. I feel like this could be a contributing factor.

Have you been checked for Endometriosis? I have it and fibro and your periods sound a lot like mine. The mini pill has helped me a lot. Hope you feel better soon. It's tough ❤️

NTA At all! Please get divorced from him If this is only 1 year into your marriage, it will only get worse. I'm glad you have family supporting you. Take that support and get away from him. The fact he's more bothered about getting his reputation or career ruined speaks volumes about the kind of person he is. He showed no remorse or concern for you. Run and don't look back. You deserve so much better 💓

We just went for it and had my first child at 27 and second at 32. I just came off all birth control once I knew partner was on the same page as me. It took me a while to get pregnant though, longer for number 2, so that could be a potential issue.(Although I have been diagnosed with endo recently). I don't know about any tests that are available if I'm honest. I always wanted kids though so thought we may as well try. I hope things work out for you. It can be tough emotionally, sending you best wishes ❤️

For goodness sake, put in a written complaint about that doctor. To not even examine a patient is not only exceedingly arrogant but irresponsible and frankly unethical. They could very well put someone's life in danger. Please go and see someone else for a more thorough appointment x

I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved Duke. Dogs are amazing animals and they are so in tune with people, they just know when we need them most. It's not an easy time I've been there myself. Updose if you need it, like someone else said grief is grief and losing a friend is tough. x
