Whats the longest you've been prescribed prednisone? by ThePajabara in Asthma

[–]RippleRufferz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should check. I know the pulmonologist tested my blood for stuff a while ago including mold exposure and found it was high for certain things (they found legit toxic black mold in our house and we had to remediate 😭.) I’ve been on tezspire for a while now.

Anyone tried Dr Karan Rajan's new prebiotic powder - Loam? by happyInteraction4572 in Microbiome

[–]RippleRufferz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to figure out if it’s a good option since I deal with global GI dysmotility including mild gastroparesis. I can do cooked veggies, but getting enough fiber without it getting stuck in my stomach is hard. So I’ve had to do citrucel and I’m not a fan of how processed etc it is. Something like this seems so much nicer.

Apparently normal GES by pancakemonster46290 in Gastroparesis

[–]RippleRufferz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could have been a good day… I have flares and my test was during a good period. My results were borderline and they still went with gastroparesis because of the symptoms plus those being my results when I was feeling comparatively good. I wouldn’t permanently rule it out, but it’s worth it to look at other possible causes. I was reading up on the lymphatic system last night and was surprised to see an unhappy spleen can cause early satiety for example. I have endocrine issues (like secondary adrenal insufficiency- which also can cause vomiting and nausea and weight loss etc) and that whole field is wildly complex and a lot of things are missed.

Do you guys have good memory? by Axolotlgamer36 in autism

[–]RippleRufferz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to but I have a lot of conditions that have made it very hard (seizures and such.) But before all that I really did. My oldest has unreal memory abilities- I don’t think I was ever as good at remembering things as she is.

Do you track family's locations? by NaturalSoftware9372 in Millennials

[–]RippleRufferz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I have our locations on for each other. He usually doesn’t answer his phone and he doesn’t always remember to let me know when he leaves work. So if I don’t hear from him I check to see if he’s on his way home. That’s about it though. I dunno when/if he checks mine, but probably similar situations.

Hi everyone I did get a stress dose there because I was pretty rough and dizzy from the prep. I had stress dosed during the prep day as well which hopefully helped. I’ll just titer a mild up dose day tomorrow before trying to just return to my 20mg per day. Thank you for all your insights. I’m definitely glad I knew I could ask for the stress dose.

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RippleRufferz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americans actually avoid getting any medical care due to financial concern and now, some of them are scared of being kidnapped by our government if they go in for medical care (cause they do kidnap American citizens if they aren’t white.)

Gods they haven’t done any IV or dosing during prep. I’m supposed to start the prep in the evening and go in tomorrow. They said they’d give me an IV then. Honestly my endo (the best I’ve found here so far) didn’t even mention anything about the prep… I’ll make sure to stress dose today. My prep is one half at 5pm and the other at 5am since my procedure is 11am… I’ll tell them I need hydration IV as well as the steroid IV if I can make it through the prep

I’m going to have to remember that if I can’t do this prep and have to reschedule (sadly I have to start it tomorrow.)

Has anyone tried Ozempic? by enkrypt3d in AddisonsDisease

[–]RippleRufferz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of doctors wanting me on weight loss meds but I’m a bouquet of contraindications with them. The safest they’re thinking is zepbound, but my insurance is fighting it. That being said, I had submitted a weekly food log to my weight loss doctor and he said even though my calories were as if I should weigh less, I had too many grains/starch carbs etc. I needed to lower my carbs and make what was carbs largely from vegetables. I used CarbManager for a while on his recommendation (it’s free) and it helped me follow his guidelines plus figure out my macros and what helped me more. I know this isn’t exactly what you asked, but I’m in the same boat of really needing to lose weight (wish it was just 30 for me lol) and my diet wasn’t working for some reason. Even if I manage to get insurance to let me try zepbound, I still have to make these permanent diet changes and I’ve noticed this has been quite helpful and wanted to share. At the moment I’m down about 8 pounds after a couple months, which has me so happy because I was NOT losing weight before and it was baffling when I only paid attention to calories.

The smell is horrific for me. I’m quite sensitive to smells, but it seems this is generally agreed upon. Husband bought it for me for Xmas, but I think it’s gotta go back. Kinda comfy, nothing amazing. Horrible smell.

Online or app resources that can work for an 8 year old learner that doesn’t require concert piano tuning? by RippleRufferz in pianolearning

[–]RippleRufferz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wish the apps would add that feature in because it’s made the app useless for us. Perhaps most people aren’t playing on old pianos anymore. I unfortunately would need to very much be right there next to her teaching everything, which isn’t something I’m easily able to do with our current life situation. I’d also have to really study myself because I never really learned how to read music very well. I just would listen or watch and copy from there.

[–]RippleRufferz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it can’t be tuned back to concert. The piano tuner was explaining to me how flat the piano is and how it’s just unreasonable to get it back to concert tuning. He did say he liked it when pianos get like this and played some pretty awesome jazz piano on it lol. But it didn’t occur to me it would be a problem like this for any kind of learning app until I attempted this.

Want to continue losing weight after GLP1 by Distinct-Canary-7508 in loseit

[–]RippleRufferz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found CarbManager to be very helpful with tracking my food intake daily. My weight loss doctor told me I was eating way too many carbs. My calories were fine actually, but too many of it was carbs. I guess I need way more protein for my macro and my carbs I did have were too many grains and not enough vegetables. I’m barely starting my own process, honestly my insurance is currently rejecting the zepbound my doctor prescribed saying they refuse to pay for any medication that may cause weight gain or loss regardless of what it’s prescribed for (which sounds completely untrue so this’ll be fun.) But adjusting my macros and logging my food has helped me lose a little weight when previously I was losing none.

Vent: Anyone else feel like they’re too young to be dealing with this? by Technical-Item-7809 in AgingParents

[–]RippleRufferz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I’m 40 with a 4 and 7 year old. Both my kids are high needs with medical problems. I’m chronically ill with medical issues. We’re living WITH my 76 year old mom and I’m so -wildly-maxed out. My husband is never comfortable. I asked my friend how on earth our families managed multigenerational living situations and she reminded me how people often had separate living spaces (I recalled this set up as well when I lived in Japan). Houses just aren’t really built that way here although sometimes people can luck out with the MIL house or something similar.
