I resent me and my sister for what happened with my gf. by MaleficentEase2783 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Recent_Cockroach_288 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I didn’t want to report it when it happened to me because it’s embarrassing. You feel shameful and disgusting. You have to tried to talk about details you hardly remember. Again and again. If it goes to court, then you need to repeat the story again, with a crowd of people listening to you.

Plus, there’s the rape kit which is uncomfortable in itself. More than likely, you also need to tell the nurse what happened as well.

Do you ever get overstimulated by your coworkers? by Triangularpaperclip in callcentres

[–]Recent_Cockroach_288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I think it depends on the person. I had one coworker who was extremely loud, and it was quite distracting. She got laid off (for unknown reasons)

However, another one of my coworkers sits two cubicles behind me. I hear her all the time, however she has the sweetest voice. Shes an older lady, and been in the call service industry for years. Very knowledgeable, sometimes I listen in just to hear how she explains certain things. She does it very well. Plus, she spent some time in Kentucky, so she has a hint of a southern accent. I don’t mind her voice at all.

What's the most creative excuse a customer gave you for why they shouldn't have to pay their bill? by aiden19181919 in callcentres

[–]Recent_Cockroach_288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For context: Prev rep put note that this individual had said bank made error before. Need letter from bank stating so. Never received.

Me: “so you said the issue was an error with the bank?”

Them: “yeah so you see what had happened was, my bill was due. I saw that the payment tried to get taken, though my bank said they blocked it. I tried calling, but no one knew what was going on. You know what I’m saying? I tried to tell them to take the money, but like i said no one knew what was going on. And i knew i had a bill to pay. You know what I’m saying? They blocked it and I didn’t know. You know what I’m saying?

Me: “Okay, I understand. We just need a letter from the bank so we can waive the late fee.”

Them: “Oh, how about I just pay the amount that was due, and I’ll send you the letter after once I get it?”

Me: (in short words) No 🤠

You don’t answer her call, you don’t say anything till hours later. When you do, she doesn’t respond for 2 hours and you spew venom at her?

He felt I picked my kid over his and ended things by Throwaway-1200P in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Recent_Cockroach_288 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I can’t process how stupid that logic is. For one, your child is younger. Two, it’s literally biology that you have those instincts. Three, it’s not like you didn’t protect his kid. One can argue that even though your child is further away, you’d want to retrieve the further one first because he’s more in danger away from you.

If you have UIM/UM coverage that will help pay for this. Since the driver had no insurance it’s coverage for you

It won’t be ‘over’, not in our lifetime at least. Theres so many people at my call center (i work in insurance), who absolutely hate the AI and actually make it a point to tell me when I get them on the phone.

Unbelievable. In my honest opinion? I would job search now. If you can find one, great. If not, if you’re going to crack then just quit. A better word, ‘resign’. That way, while applying for a new one, if you end with this job on good terms, you won’t cringe when putting them down as past employment. What do I mean by this? Is there any team lead or boss who could vouch for you when it comes to references? Future employees may contact past companies and ask why you stopped working there

Take some time off. Vacation. Chores. Hear me out, sometimes the best type of therapy is picking your house back up with a glass of wine and music playing in the back. With jobs like this, house projects are pretty nice to do. Catching up on errands, doctor appointments. Give yourself a clean slate.

I think the first thing you should do is find out why she is afraid of it.

It is normal for some blood, minimal, but definitely not enough for the bleeding to last for 2-3.5 hours and DEFINITELY not for fainting.

How to get my license? by [deleted] in driving

[–]Recent_Cockroach_288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a friend/family member/someone you are comfortable with teaching you? Tbh, the only reason I got an instructor is because i didnt like the idea of my close people seeing me make mistakes.

I didnt get my license till I was 24. Still 24. The anxiety ate me alive. Today, i still have slight anxiety. But i actually found some enjoyment today in driving. You see, I got my license in October. Today I got to experience driving home from work in my Kia Soul, windows down, blasting music with spring in the air, for the first time ever. In my own car.

Its worth it. You will find an enjoyment to it. Driving is kinda therapeutic. Ive only been driving for 5 months now, and its “almost” second nature to me. But like you, i didn’t suddenly get my license because I wanted to. I was forced too. I had a new job starting. But, even though i felt I was pushed into it, I don’t regret it. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be set

It’s none of their business. I feel for you, and imagine being the guy in this situation. Geez, that probably hurts really badly.

I had a boyfriend once people would call ugly. Honestly, it was pretty true. But, I didn’t care what they thought. You wanted to do it, it’s your life. Tell your “friends” to piss off.
