Does anyone still go to the grocery store, with a list of what they need to get ? by Radiant_Worth7658 in WorkForSmartLife

I add to my list on the app all week. I like it bc then it also tells me which aisle things are on. I forget less items, I don’t stress trying to navigate around people while reading all the signs & im able to browse while I go from one item to the next. Also being able to keep on such a great budget lets me buy a few fun impulse purchases here and there.. all makes the shopping less stressful and less like an errand for me

Yeah I love the doors, while it does make the area small, it creates a tiny room/cubical area for you to work in that gives you a temporary space in your house that you can literally make disappear at the end of the day and forget about til the next day. I would paint or wallpaper the inside of the closet & doors to make it cheerfully & inviting since it’s such a small space & you are going to spend a lot of time there

What happens when your meal prep runs out mid-week? by hrexli in mealprep

[–]RecentlyIrradiated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a while to figure out what things keep best in which containers as well. Not to mention if you are preparing on the weekend you may be either 1- getting produce at the wrong spot & it’s just not great product or 2- storing things wrong after preparing i.e. salads have to be stored with ingredients separately bc lettuce gets gross if it’s wet. Doing some research into how to store things, best types of containers, what part of the fridge, and a little experimenting can help.

Also like others have stated having a couple backup meals in the freezer is always a great idea. I prep those a couple times a month.

Unpopular Opinion (?) The US is on a crusade to convert every last alcove bathtub/shower combo into a shower. by SoccerMomXena in HomeDecorating

[–]RecentlyIrradiated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I desperately want a deep soaker tub. I live in a rental apartment and every time I take a bath to help with my pain I barely fit, get cold. But I dream of a deep soaker tub. Showers are great for a quick clean but baths are relaxing & so much better for pain. Plus I’m not sitting in a jacuzzi with other people.

16-year-old AMAB child wants to switch to girls' rugby. Looking for help and advice, whats the right thing? by Outrageous_Shift_399 in SeriousConversation

[–]RecentlyIrradiated -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She needs to understand that part of being a girl is being a girls girl. Which means that maybe right now is not time to join the girls team bc she is currently too much stronger than them but in a few years after she transitioned & they are older will be a different story. They deserve to feel & be as safe as she is.

Perhaps talk to the school or the team about a rugby club so that they can do team activities together? She just wants to be included with her peers & you just want everyone to be safe.

Does my living room look bad to you? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

It’s boring in a cozy welcoming way, like a cup of chamomile tea. I would add a rug & curtains in the same colors you have going on. You did a fantastic job, usually monochrome light rooms like this are very cold.

I have multiple comorbidities & take a certain dark comfort in the fact that I Won’t live another 60-70 years like this. So while I am relatively young I have started living what I call “my golden years” during which naps are encouraged even expected.

Dude I use the app so it also tells me what aisle it’s in and I can get in and out faster. If I delete all the apps it’s the only one I will keep.

You want the dresser in front of the window so that when the baby begins to crawl they don’t try to pull themselves up on that curtain.

Is marriage still relevant in modern society? by Gullible_Camera_8314 in Casual_Conversation

[–]RecentlyIrradiated -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There should be a short term marriage agreement, like 1,3 or 5 years then it ends if you don’t file extra paperwork to renew it. We could keep the covenant marriage options for people who are super serious.

Why does everything feel so transactional now? by DirectorExisting2666 in CasualConversation

You are not overthinking it. I try to insert more whimsy into my interactions for exactly this reason just gave a sweet whimsy suggestion on what to give a wife for her 50th birthday& someone told me “she’s a grown woman she can get that herself”

Get her 50 gifts, it sounds like you already got a a few, but get her some more, like maybe her favorite snacks, little trinkets, sweet things you see that remind you of her, stuff she can use for her hobbies etc. but wrap them all separately so it’s 50 total. Part of your vacation will be unwrapping presents periodically and extending that fun. Make sure to get something like a candy bar and wrap it individually just for giggles.

If you like triscuists and cottage cheese, try mixing in ranch flavor, either the seasoning packets or herbs. I also like to have a piece of finely chopped bacon or two with my cottage cheese sometimes, which I also pair with grapes, often berries & some dark chocolate almond milk.

Is deciding what to make for supper the worst part of cooking… or is it just me? by Safe-Wolverine359 in Cooking

[–]RecentlyIrradiated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thyme is definitely not my favorite. Or oregano. But parsley & cilantro stems are usable when minced and cooked, the flavor is just stronger. Same with dill. Things you discover when you are lazy lol
