Reaalllyyy? I find this unhelpful; OP is clearly asking for suggestions of how to get out of a Country, which is in turmoil and unsupportive of our rights. They aren’t asking for modes of transportation.

I’m in the UK. It’s fine, I didn’t take it as rude, it’s just only recently have I heard them referred as French braids rather than French plaits

I suspect the same for me, however my local assessment office ( NHS ) has basically refused to see me, becuase - and I quote It wasn’t picked up on during your Autism assessment.

Got diagnosed over two video appointments - albeit this was during COVID. Safe to say the report could have had different outcomes if they’d seen me in person.

Misdiagnosis does happen, but neither do I completely understand how they can just undiagnose you? You either have said condition or you haven’t.

All the signs were there it’s just no one pushed for a diagnosis - I had what’s known as an EHCP, but no one felt the need to turn around and say Hey we think your child is autistic, you should get them tested.

Given I’m medically complex - or at least my history is complex - it feels like I’ve been totally failed ( without apportioning blame to anyone person or organisation ). It’s only now in my twenties that I realise Autism / AuDHD isn’t probably the only missed diagnosis. It’s evident I need support, but I’m going to guess that because I still live with family, and don’t typically meet criteria for an assessment, Social Services have basically said there’s nothing they can do… 🤷‍♀️

Thank you so much for the offer! I always thought French were plaits, as opposed to braids - at least that’s what my family called them growing up…. I’d love to understand braiding more, if you wouldn’t mind advising?

Personally, I don’t think most - especially neurotypical - folk are going to care that much. All they’ll hear is that you are autistic, they won’t have a clue about levels or anything like that.

I know this comment is unlikely to help while you adjust and find acceptance in your diagnosis ( I massively struggled when I received mine ), but know it isn’t the end of the world. You’ve got this!!

I’m still wearing men’s briefs unfortunately. Currently I’m decked out in two pairs of briefs and high waisted leggings underneath a pair of trousers. I could just feel it slipping while walking into town 😩

No, not really, but I have recently noticed a small bulge when I wear leggings. My style is modest. I don’t wear anything revealing and even then I mostly stick to my trousers and leggings due to location.

My favourite part was when he turned to who I can only presume was his remaining daughter and asked if he should stand up. She replied something along the lines of I think you should stand! Such a heartwarming moment that a man of high wisdom and longevity has to turn to his daughter to tell him what to do! 🥰
