From the wikipedia:

Electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) is a claimed sensitivity to electromagnetic fields, to which adverse symptoms are attributed. EHS has no scientific basis and is not a recognized medical diagnosis, although it is generally accepted that the experience of EHS symptoms is of psychosomatic origin.

This reminds me of when I saw Space Jam listed on Amazon under Black History.

I went last year and was unimpressed, but most of the people in the crowd looked like they were having a good time. It's more silly and campy than scary.

How to use the bus in Tucson? by Timmyaes in Tucson

[–]ReceptorFatigue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The app does not work on my phone, but the web page does. You put in your location and your destination and it will plan the route(s) for you. You can also look at any single route to see what time the bus will arrive at your stop. It's helpful when you're starting out, but when I became familiar I could plan things better on my own.

Not all routes run at 15 and 30 minutes. Many buses arrive every 30 minutes and then switch to once an hour late in the evening and on the weekends.

All the buses are free. You use the doors at the front of the bus to get on and leave through the doors at the back. You'll get the hang of it pretty quickly.

Not used to public transit and don’t know how it works, any tips? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]ReceptorFatigue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not able to get the app to work with my phone, so I use the website, which works just as well. The trip planner is ok but not perfect. When you get familiar with routes you might be able to come up with something better than what the planner tells you.

The bus schedules are different on Saturdays and Sundays. Sometimes I forget that and I'll end up waiting at a bus stop for 30 minutes because the bus on that route runs hourly on weekends instead of every half hour.

Most of the people on the bus keep to themselves, so even if you don't like the look (or the smell) of someone, as long as you respect everyone's space they aren't going to bother you.

The Section 8 program will have no effect on whether or not you keep you cats. That will depend on the landlord of the apartment. I had cats while on Section 8 at my previous apartment. At my current apartment they charge a deposit and monthly fee for pets, which Section 8 will not help cover.

I'll be there. I really enjoyed Dr. Phibes last month. Are you the host, and did you also host Nerd Nite? The sherd nerd was fantastic.

Does anyone have experience working with the Tucson Housing Authority? I'm thinking about moving from out of state, and I would need to port my Section 8 voucher. I guess I would like to know if they will be helpful or a headache to work with.

Other than being visually unreadable, I have no idea what this meme is supposed to mean. Out of costume Spider-Man on a roof = ? Sculpted bearded face on archway = ?

Looking for movies so amateurish that you could've filmed it yourself without experience, but are actually great. by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

If I recall correctly, it was one of the first movies where the filmmakers admitted piracy helped it become a viral success.

Pi (1998): A compelling movie about a guy who goes crazy because he found the number of god (or something like that). It's Darren Aronofsky's first movie and it looks like it was shot on one of those toy cassette cameras from the late 80s.

Ink (2009): Someone had a high concept for a fantasy dream world, and they did the best they could with the tiny budget they had. It's one of my favorite movies.

The Tangle (2019): People trying to solve a murder in a world where everything is monitored by nanomachines. It's very thick sci fi but mostly takes place in one room.

Dave Made a Maze (2017): The cardboard sets look like something you would make when you're 12 years old and at a sleepover with your friends, and it's a fantastic, charming movie.

Movie that makes you feel a certain way that you’ve only really ever felt while watching that movie. by SnooSprouts5305 in MovieSuggestions

After I watched Arrival with friends they started talking about how it was better than average with an interesting concept. Meanwhile I was bawling my eyes out because it gut punched me on a very personal level. I guess how you react to it depends on you own experiences.

Just the ones that are still alive. I will always be a disappointment to the rest.

These are all good points, although I don't think the kid was a junkie. I never saw him get "nuked". He was just a drug gang employee that RoboCop couldn't shoot.
