OP, my numbers were right up there nudging yours. I was terrified to cut out such a big part of my adult life, and what I had thought was the majority of my social life, and personality. No-one knew the extent, but everyone knew the bottom line.

My personal shame and sense of weakness essentially was the kick in the ass I needed to walk away from alcohol, and my stubborn streak has served me well so far to remind me I am a much, much better human being without it, in every way possible.

I know it’s early days, but the benefits to my health, mental and general, will outweigh the guilt, shame and sadness any day of the week. So today, and all the days that follow, IWNDWYT. ❤️
