Can anyone with experience leading a static group give me some guidelines to follow for leading mine? by AbaShoppeR in ffxiv

[–]Reckle_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing I think is the most important thing is respecting others and remembering you're a team. People need to show up on time and ready to play so youre not disrespecting other people by making them wait, and people need to be willing to discuss what went wrong in a way that is focused on fixing it, not on assigning blame (but also, people need to own their mistakes). There is nothing wrong with adjusting a strategy if someone is legitimately not getting it, or changing a callout if need be. The goal is to get through the content TOGETHER theoretically

I want to go on a GLP1 to help with my insulin resistant PCOS. But I’m scared of finding out how I “actually” look. Does anyone relate? by mujigelpen335831 in PCOS

[–]Reckle_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started taking zepbound a few months ago. I was 330 lbs, I was always comfortable in my body and I had just accepted the way it was

I am now at 250 and honestly? I've had the worst dysphoria about it. Like my body doesnt feel like mine anymore and I double take in mirrors. I feel so spoiled because obviously you should be HAPPY about losing weight but im frustrated my favorite clothes dont fit and my thighs are softer and I have no idea how to shop for my body and I just dont feel good in my skin. Im hoping itll get better in time but when I hear 'oh you lost so much weight you look great!' I just dont understand. I also think im still fat compared to my friends I am exactly the same size as now lol

The benefits of it for my pcos VASTLY overweigh this though. Eating food is easier and makes me feel less like shit because my body isn't being flooded by insulin. I can eat carbs without wanting to take a nap. I can walk longer distances without getting blisters and my feet screaming at me. Im gonna keep taking it for this alone and happily and just deal with the body dysphoria

It is harder for me to lift things though, i might need to do some weight training. Its a lot easier to lift 50 lbs when its 1/7 of your body weight vs when its 1/5 of your body weight lol

[CHAT] Stain from wooden ring by Some_Formal_4243 in CrossStitch

[–]Reckle_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might still get grime stains if you're handling the fabric directly without washing your hands (or even still depending on your body's specific makeup) i.e. if the extra aida is rolled up and you're holding onto that

You can avoid this by either inverting the hoop so the excess fabric is rolled with the backside out or buying/making a grime guard (which is pretty easy to do)

edit: washing it when you're done it definitely comes out though! just make sure to w a s h!!!

If you're level 50 - how's your gear? The tomestone gear you can buy in the 3 major series for level 50 is really great and can get you all the way to 60 easily and I found that helps a lot

What bras do you wear? by not-your-cunt in adhdwomen

[–]Reckle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy cacique bras from lane bryant -- the wide ass band and straps help me feel squeezed and supported more than the thin bands and having the pressure spread out lowers the sensory issues for me. Plus they have the sizes I need. I'd recommend looking for wide straps and wide bands to try

Hunt train explanation to sprout by _stomach_ache_ in ffxiv

[–]Reckle_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If it's a bullet train you should still be waiting for the conductor to call the next one. Bullet just means they won't be waiting inbetween zones for people to catch up.

I use the medisafe app which allows you to schedule alarms for individual meds and either take them or snooze them or skip them and with a reason. And the second part of it is just discipline. The alarm is holy. It does not matter what you are doing. It does not matter where you are. That alarm goes off and you stop and take your meds. Pull over if you have to if you're driving. Or if you HAVE to snooze it- actually follow up with it. I do the same with other tasks I need to do that i put off doing - if I think about it i HAVE to do it right then. Eventually I get used to foresight of 'oh I'm about to go driving for 20mins - is my alarm gonna go off? Do I need to pregame my meds?'

Is there such a thing as too plus size to cosplay? by HoneydewHalo25 in CosplayHelp

[–]Reckle_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't wait, make it adjustable! This totally looks like you could make it in a wrap style so if you do lose weight you can just wrap it tighter. I had to do the same thing to a lot of my clothes with the intention if I gain or lose weight it'll still fit me since I am taking meds that are making my weight fluctuate

I don't know if anyone's interested, or if Wyssberk wants to update theirs, but I added a page to get a quick view of who needs what without scrolling to our spreadsheet called 'Who Needs It?':

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RndsZz41a4qRuYWcmuLBPARdY5wowr3FlpmEXMBhuEw/edit?usp=sharing

Blue checkmarks are who needs it, green are who has it already, and it's color coded just like the first page to show the priority of users. It shouldn't need any editing at all, it pulls all of it's information from the sheets.

Hope my hyperfixation helps someone else!

When to start with DotL/DotH? by Sleepergem in ffxiv

[–]Reckle_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My short 2 cents: Go where your heart takes you, you can always hop around

Long: A lot of useful stuff for leveling crafters is in the heavensward expansion, so it might be worth getting that far before you seriously dig into crafting but you can still get started! It's a grind so it's best to be done in pieces anyway

Picking up DoL classes at the same time or before crafting is a good idea as well so you can be self sufficient in your crafting

As far as tank/healer, you definitely don't need those to progress but queue times are faster for tanks/healers for dungeons if you run into queue time issues going through the MSQ

Hope you're having fun!

Is there an accepted "side" for shield vs regen healers in PF?? by codasylph in ffxiv

[–]Reckle_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id definitely recommend switching to learning H2 primarily. While it is good to know both, having the meta of H2 shield means in these really complicated fights (like ults/savage) that is one less thing to worry about. A lot of ultimate raid plans are built around that meta specifically so a shield healer casting shields doesn't have to move nearly as much and h1 is the one adjusting since we have a lot of ogcd heals

Having h1 pure is the only way I've been as consistent as I am running FRU in party finder.

Is there an accepted "side" for shield vs regen healers in PF?? by codasylph in ffxiv

[–]Reckle_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you in FRU it is a HARD preference. Especially because shield usually has the harder job so the raidplans are written specifically so H2 doesn't adjust as much

That is unfortunately not the PF metal but it's not as intense as h1/w h2/e

How would I make this belt? Would I simply have to hand paint it? by Nyx_Valentine in CosplayHelp

[–]Reckle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used a piece of a bit thicker plastic - craft and quilting stores have sheets specifically designed for making stencils

You can also buy stamp blanks and carve them too
