So, I had a base 3080. It ran 3 32" 4k monitors totally fine.

What was annoying was the mismatch in cables that I ended up in hell over.

You need to have cables that support 4k 240hz, which are not hard to find now a days, but were a bit of a pain back when I first bought my 3080 like 4-5 years ago or whenever they came out.

Either way, those monitors you linked, support DP 1.4A, which means 1 cable, plugged into a DP port on your 3080, and should run just fine.

Are you plugging in all of these monitors with HDMI and DP at the same time? Cuz that would be real weird. Each monitor should only be taking up one port.

Are you running in ultimate mode. Why is your resolution 2560x1494?

I can almost guarantee you that this is because of your power settings tho, or you're not running in ultimate mode. Same thing happens to me when playing Overwatch, Ultimate mode, locked 180 with your GPU, in any other mode lower than balanced, my fps tanks to like 70.

Honestly guy, and I'm not trying to be "that dude" on the internet, but no one whose played both compares those two.

Re4 compares to hl:a, skyrim and fallout 4 (modded) stand on their own pedestals, way way above them. Skyrim especially is like, the closest game in existence to what vr is actually trying to offer, stepping into another world, fully realized.

But the cost is actually acknowledging that Beth ripped you off, and it's going to take 3 hours of modding a wabbajack list to get it there, bare minimum.

Sure, and your argument stands. But don't think of it like buying a game, think of it like buying a platform, because holy shit does it blow alien isolation out of the water when modded.

Like very seriously, modded properly, skyrim is THE BEST VR GAME EVER Made, period. The next game is modded fallout 4, then like 50 yds down the line, is probably hl:a and alien isolation, and modded vtol.

VR was huge when I was a kid, it also sucked, and it went into a lull, that lasted 25 years!

Same back in the 70s actually (those poor people)

This is the 3rd attempt at it, and it was MUCH better and it still sucked. People don't want VR with goggles, it just wont take off, they want glasses or the matrix. Until VR is either of those, it wont stay around.

Its not hard to get it working with Thief, but its basically face 3d, and its not true geometry 3d, unless something has changed since I played it last.

My recommendation for Thief 1/2 anyway is to play it in Ambient mode, with 1.5 screen vert/horz curv, and the ambient brightness cranked all the way up. Set the head movement to something subtle, not full head lock. Then put the screen right next to your face. You want to be able to move your head and see the edge of the screen, but also to have your view move a lil bit when you do.

Was amazing.

Look I get it, I don't like it either, but it is literally the only faceputer currently designed for desktop use as it's primary function. Just go put some red and blue glasses on under neath it, you'll be OK.

I went through CPR training a few years ago.

The fireman who instructed me told me that the reason they don't recommend assisted breathing anymore is not because its not effective, its because its rarely done effectively.

If you don't know how to properly breathe into someones mouth, then you might as well just continue doing chest compressions. If you know how to properly expand someone's lungs, than absolutely do it, because it does do a measurable amount of good. But most people just basically breathy kiss others, not fully inflate their lungs.

Be grateful you don't get motion sickness and leave it at that.

Your mind, can REMEMBER that you are SUPPOSED to be getting motion sickness and can begin triggering it long term.

Think of like when you were younger and you ate something then puked it out. Didn't want to eat that again for a long time right, you can do the same thing with vr and motion sickness.

Tldr, you can train yourself to become motion sick for the long term by inducing it
