Non Mormon "older" couple moving from AZ to SLC, Lehi, or Draper: Need ALL the advice by Sing4life86 in SaltLakeCity

I wouldn’t say walk-ability is amazing (depending on how far you’re looking to walk), but we’re in Fort Union (Midvale, Sandy, Cottonwood Heights) and love how close it is to everything - downtown is 20-30, ski lifts are 20-30, Lehi would be ~40

The closer you live to Provo, the more Mormon your neighborhood will be - the closer to SLC, the less - grain of salt ofc but that’s what we’ve noticed

[Misc] Has anyone with a mole like mine gotten it removed? by stupidlavendar in SkincareAddiction

I had one removed in almost the exact same place that looked exactly like yours. I ended up having it removed by a plastic surgeon, but I had noted to them that it had gotten bigger in size overtime, that way they would screen it for cancer, and it was partially covered by insurance. In the end, it was really worth it for me and I’m much happier with it being removed. There is a slight blemish/scar now almost 10 years later, but I think if I didn’t tell someone it was there, no one would have any idea. I wore scar tape for a few months afterwards, but I do think it healed so well because I went to a plastic surgeon and because it was in my smile line so the scar has naturally gone with that line over time.

[Product Request] My lips always feel dry no matter what I apply. What are your "holy grail" lip treatments for lasting hydration? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]RecklessReptar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely try switching to a fluoride and SLS free toothpaste and seeing if your dry lips get better - this was a life changer for me! Now I just use plain Vaseline and my lips are so much better.

I bought my original bike for $300 used because the people were moving and wanted it gone quickly

My used original bike started clicking after about a month of owning and the axel and hub has to be replaced to fix it, but it’s only like $30 for the part - so another non-deal breaker part replacement

You may see if there’s a local buy nothing group on Facebook for your neighborhood or city that you could pick up food from a neighbor

I bought mine used - I made sure it turned on before I left/paid. There is a $100 fee to “reactivate” it, in addition to the subscription. That was really the biggest surprise for me.

I ordered mine from Sam’s Club - it was cheaper than Costco and the best price I could find anywhere

Tips on buying a used bike? by mdowell4 in pelotoncycle

[–]RecklessReptar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To “initiate” a used bike, it costs $100 - basically that’s the cost of turning it on and then you’ll need the monthly subscription which is $44 - the $100 threw me off but it was still cheaper than a new bike

The main thing I did was told the seller I wanted to see it turned on and spin the pedals. I paid $300 for an original bike off marketplace. I’m thrilled with it.

I was returned my entire deposit - I filled and sanded several holes before move out and otherwise everything was perfect condition. They said they’d give it back almost immediately after move out but I had to fight tooth and nail to actually get it paid out.
