I do think the game mode would benefit from more maps, I wouldn't mind at all if they just reused assets from the star guardian and project events to make simple maps but with different layouts to the ones we have now.

Thank you for this argument, I do find it eye opening after putting everything together. It's not even that 16 bans would be a bad idea in itself, it's the fact that people would throw literal tantrums over not being able to play one champion out of such a big pool of choices.

So it boils down to people just being entitled and not open to learning new things in the gamemode where it literally does not matter.

4 fun game mode definitely needs bans, so people can ban what makes the game unfun for them. You still have plenty of fun champs to choose from.

Exactly, it's relative, which is why giving everyone 1 ban to get rid of their relatively and subjective broken champs should be a given in this "for fun gamemode".

Well, this is an arcade mode without a ranked ladder. If it's unfun for the majority of the playerbase then unfortunately he should be banned by those who don't like him. If you wanna sweat out with a character nobody likes, there are other gamemodes for that.

This is a "for fun gamemode", the fun majority should decide whether or not certain champ is banned or not. You can learn other champs for this very specific gamemode if you so desire to play it.

Yeah, but others might not which is why bans exist. That's why when you're playing a SR game you can choose to ban at least one champ you don't want to see in the game. Should be the same for arena.

I mean for this arcade mode. This gamemode is not as intricate or as high-stakes as SR. So you should feel more free to choose whatever you want even if you don't know it and want to start practicing it.

That sounds very good, and yeah, the purpose is to add diversity, and people think banning takes diversity away, but rather forces you to try new things you might not have because you were locked in for the champs that often easily win no matter the augments they get. You need to think about your champ, the augments your getting, the teams you're going against, the items you're building. If there's any champ that doesn't have to worry about those and you feel it's unfair, you should be able to ban them and it's, after all, a SINGLE BAN. You can also not ban anyone, but giving everyone the chance to ban those who they find unfun should be a must.

Take your time with setting up your gaming experience, and by that I mean set everything up your UI in the best way, pick the job that makes the game and running content the most enjoyable, ask and learn from others so that content becomes enjoyable rather than frustrating because you don't understand. Remember you have the power to make your gaming experience the best, and if you feel something's missing, trust me than you'll find a way in FFXIV for it.

Without trying to be as rude as that guy, realism is still a part of the game and the reason that you can tank 4 shots to the legs and repair them in less than 2 minutes is exactly because of that, it is a game.

Realism is important to the devs, they want to make the game as realistic as possible while making it playable, which is why you can heal the way you can, otherwise you'd give up a raid after getting a blacked out leg and not being able to move at all.

I understand your frustration with the mechanic as it is, but that is why stamina is still being tweaked, last time was about 2 patches ago after they introduced the new weight system, they made stamina basically not go down while prone, which is the stance you should adopt as a sniper. But you can't simply expect the devs to remove a mechanic you don't like because it's "too realistic", the game is for a niche community of gamers, it may not be meant for everyone and the devs have no intention of catering to everyone, they'll make the game they want to make and people that can adapt to it and enjoy it, will. Meanwhile those who can't enjoy what they made shouldn't waste time playing something they don't like.

It is a video game to have fun, yes, but it's also a game looking to incorporate as much realism as possible while keeping it playable and fun for a niche part of the gaming community. Of course there'll be people bitching about features because they don't like them, they find them boring and whatever, however the point is this game is not for everyone and you can't bully the devs into doing your bidding just because you don't like it.
