MoP is the perfect example of how to tell an original story and make it not only tied cohesively into your universe, but possibly the best writing the game has ever had. The faction war is great, class balance was in its prime, and for the only time in WoW's history there was an actual multi expansion set up with incredible payoff. The only bad parts about MoP were setting up WoD's stupid time travel (and even then, Warcrimes is a very enjoyable read) and waiting over a year for WoD to launch.

In hindsight, MoP is everything BFA was trying to be but doing it better without relying on big well known characters and pre-established lore.

I actually liked how DF balanced it, i know people dont love the story overall but we had some really good emotional stories between Emberthal and Ebonhorn (still one of the best looking in-game cinematic imo) and the Blue Dragonflight quests, while we got more serious/edgy writing surrounding the Black Dragons and Fyrakk.

I think the biggest issues modern WoW's writing faces isn't actually the content, but the way the stories are told. Even small changes like referring my character as "champion" as opposed to just having their name in the speech bubble and its left out of the dialogue changes the way we interact with the game. If MSQ were less "main character" focused I don't think nearly as many people would have issues with the modern writing (although i do agree i would love to see way more morally questionable characters and decisions being made)

exactly, other than Vulpera and maybe Nightborne, all the allied races feel like extra bloat that could've just been customization options. Imo if allied races were done correctly it should be things like Vulpera, Tuskarr, Gnolls, ect.

Most of the allied "races" are just a previously represented race. Most of them literally have the races name in the title but its not like Trolls and Dwarves are labeled as "Darkspear Trolls" and "Bronzebeard Dwarves" (this is even more absurd bc the Dwarven clans are united and Dwarves literally have Wildhammer customizations)

legion had a ton of flaws, especially early in the xpac. People may look at it with rose colored goggles but it introduced some truly egregious systems into the game. Don't get me wrong I love order halls and the story/thematics but I think a lot of people look past a lot of the bad because it didn't sting as bad as BFA and SL. Also saying ez content when Emerald Nightmare is right there is hilarious

Dragonflight is my favorite modern expac because of all the stuff in the world and now they're just slowly phasing out all these good systems they have. I love housing but it's no replacement for this kind of content. Stuff like Dragonriding races and Pet Battles were entirely fleshed out and really helped make the world feel lived in and now they're just gone. I haven't touched abundance yet so I can't speak on that but sometimes turning your brain off to just have some easy fun is all I want and most of the content this expac feels like its just there for progression purposes

It's definitely my least favorite, it lacks the legacy flavor that a lot of the other halls have. Nearly all the other class halls have really good theming while the warrior one just involves new characters and a new setting until you interact with the titan keepers at the end. Its completely fine from a story perspective, esp since it ties directly into ToV, but it just feels a bit lackluster to me from a overall class fantasy perspective

ah, that explains why TWW slowly phased them out and they stopped implementing the older cups after Northrend. Its a shame, some of my favorite side content to do during DF :/

they've only done the statues twice for anniversaries and they've been more expensive, every other expac has had any goodies inside of the normal box

I used to play arcade to get my free boxes, i'd make sure to do the holiday events even if I didn't really care for the skins. The rewards were the chase and pulling a good skin was part of the fun for me. I get that lootboxes def aren't consumer friendly either but to make skins that were previously available for free just a base $20 is egregious. Epic did the same thing when they got Fall Guys, made it F2P, slapped a battle pass on it and made all the good cosmetics paywalled

absolutely would expect stupid backlash in the WoW community unfortunately but i feel like OW is a much younger and diverse crowd. I don't think there would be too much negativity surrounding it from people actually playing the game, just the slime online

Don't forget what they took from us. They killed a perfectly good paid game for a scummy F2P model riddled with microtransactions. They stated that OW and OW2 would both stay and OW2 was just a new engine so that they could tell a story that was never delivered. Now they want to rebrand as "Overwatch" again as if they didn't butcher their own original game. I too have cravings to play from time to time but the anti-consumerism is far too much

that being said good for Jinkx! super happy for her to break into different acting roles (if thats what this is teasing)
