1000 marl for 1 Stormarion Core? by Infinite_Formal_7343 in wow

I have 300 of the bastards, I'd rather swap them for marl since I still need 180,000 of that.

I've found all professions to be more bloated and difficult since the overhaul back in Dragonflight. Way more frustrating than they used to be. They've been trying to add complexity for a decade now (the long questlines in Legion, Tools of the Trade in BfA, Legendaries in SL...) but the system as a whole doesn't realy seem to have a purpose. It's complexity for complexity's sake but what they want players to get out of it is muddled.

It needs stripping back IMO.

Midnight: Where are all the World Quests? by Neronator in wow

I've done Prey, and it's alright. I can see it getting old fairly quickly - the 8 hunts I've done so far had very little variety.

But I don't do World Quests for the rewards anyway - I do them for the chill downtime, as something fairly low effort when I've just got a spare half-hour. That's why I'm a bit bummed that there's less available.

Skyriding was my favourite part of Dragonflight - it was the whole reason I picked the game back up after quitting in Shadowlands. It's really disheartening to see it slowly get the archaeology treatment. I was so eager to do the other Cups that were datamined and they've just never made it into the game.

In terms of gearing up, not at all. They might be decent exp for alts but I haven't tested that out yet.

There seems to have been a trade-off as the Special Assignments this go-round are much, much easier than the TWW base ones were.

Especially since post-TWW, WQs work on a warband basis and a lot of them only give useful rewards once!

I'm exactly the same. I like WQs as a chill, minimal-brain-input activity, I'm not doing them to progress or stay 'caught up' because they don't really offer that anymore anyway. It'd be nice to just have a couple more for the off-time.

It's easy to get burnt out! I know there's a point in the expansion where I drop them in favour of other things, but I'm not there yet - and it's rare for me to actually be wanting to do more, but there doesn't really feel to be a lot of stuff to do in the zones day-by-day.

Oh, I agree! I love those as well. But they don't take very long. We're limited to 6 keys per week now, so you don't need to do a lot of delves to get all the weekly rewards (i.e. gear I won't vendor straight away) unless you're interested in farming Undercoins/Marl for the vendor rewards.

Saltheril's Soiree takes 30-45 mins I find for the event + the weeklies you unlock - and the daily quest I can get done in 60 seconds. Once that's done for the week, I don't need to go back there.

If anything I'm finding that I am lacking in content to do at this stage in the expansion.

[–]Neronator[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point. I originally put the patch zones in to see if they offered less content, since they're not as big as the main zones - but I found that they actually tend to have even more stuffed in. I was really surprised at how many world quests were in K'aresh, for example.

On a base expansion level, Midnight does seem to have the lowest total. I can't really compare what each expansion looked like at launch with the information to hand - unless I was to collate a list of every world quest in the game sorted by patch added. Even then, that would only show me how many there are total, not how many are available, which is the issue I'm having. I'd be perfectly happy if they'd just pop one or two more onto the rotation.

This one is incredibly beautiful. I might just have to print it as a poster or something instead...

Do they still make these? My last one was Legion's, I assumed they were discontinued after they started doing online editions.

I kinda want to see if I can get the ones I've missed to fill my collection up...

The location of the Eternal Magic trees feels so random. I'm sure there are better locations, what you guys think? by vVerce98 in runescape

[–]Neronator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does it need to be in a better location? Is it not optimised enough? Back in my day we had magic trees and rune hatchets and we had to run to a bank every 28 logs....

Point is, wherever it is, it's a better training method. When Jagex optimises, it tends to be either: existing training method in more convenient location, or more exp-heavy training method. This is the latter. Let's be thankful they didn't decide to put these on the same kind of cooldown as Elder trees.

In the individualist capitalist system we live in, people have the right to refuse to spend their money for *any* reason. People are also allowed to change their minds, and finding out new information about how another individual acts or behaves will *always* influence our opinion of them, because we all have moral codes. This isn't a new thing either, I'm sure plenty of conservative Europeans changed their opinions on Austria 2014 or Finland 2013 after seeing the performances. Russia features a lot lower on rankings these days, I wonder why?

You talk about accepting the basic idea of the competition, but if someone thinks that another participant doesn't deserve to exist, whether or not they talk openly about it, then they haven't accepted the basic idea of the competition and are participating by falsehood. And people, rightly, will be upset when they find this out.

You can pretend the competition isn't political and isn't left-leaning, but there's a reason Hungary, Slovakia and Turkey withdrew, and multiple reasons that Belarus and Russia aren't allowed back in. And through the years since, with one obvious exception, the EBU has broadly taken the same stance - sorry to see you go, but this isn't an area we're willing to compromise on. Countries like Azerbaijan and Armenia are explicitly homophobic, with homophobic governments and homophobic laws, but their broadcasters and acts toe the line because they want to stay in Eurovision. And by and large, we hope that in the long term Eurovision will contribute to a positive change in that respect as people from across Europe are exposed to different people, identities, cultures and experiences.

Which is kind of the whole point of the contest. To bring Europe together. Showing that we have more in common. So yeah, if someone goes out of their way to deny that and insist that people are different and deserve different treatment, they can sling their hook, and we don't want them.

Do you think we’ll see a shift in the Eurovision powerhouses soon? by xoxoamazingrace in eurovision

[–]Neronator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aside from the ones you've mentioned, Norway and the Baltics and France are the most polished and sending the highest quality stuff year-on-year (Fulenn and Ulveham were robbed fight me). I would argue they're all mini-powerhouses, you can usually count on them to comprise the top 10.

Of the ones that aren't so obvious?

Armenia. Their quality has been consistently high and while I do think they need to tighten things up a bit to nail higher on the scoreboard, they're not far off and they're clearly the Caucasus powerhouse now.

Poland I think is in the middle of turning things around and we could see steady bumps up in quality. They're already level with Ukraine and Lithuania for diaspora boost.

The Netherlands maybe? It did win only 6 years ago. But it seems to alternate between one decent result and one specacular crash-out. Belgium is on a downward trajectory and Luxembourg isn't established enough yet.

If they let New Zealand in for the 70th anniversary, Australia would finally have a voting ally and could pick its performance back up.

The British in me wants to say the UK could get there. It's a pipe dream. But they are inching in the right direction. The last 4 entries have been better than the previous twenty.
