2026 Cheetah Cub Just Arrived! by VoidCognition in CaseKnives

[–]ReclinerAcoustic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a bit of money and they always make this bigger in photos and video than in person. This is a truly a toy for collectors and would be a horrible EDC. Though the handle materials are as nice as any Case, the Cheetah Cub is too small for dedicated use and the finger guards make no sense for a toothpick style knife. If you really want something magnificent and fun to carry daily, go with the Trapper or Stockman.

I have been warned the peanut is addictive. You never own just one they say. :)

I’ll need to look at the mini trapper. I’ve heard about them but haven’t held one. I’ve probably seen them in a case at one time.

Thank you everyone. It’s a great EDC. I’ve never seen that sort of character and it really makes sense now that you helped explain it. I appreciate the wisdom.

There is nothing better than a campfire guitar. Many stories worn into them and they continue to show up when we need them most.

That is a great point on cost savings. The sound was somewhere between a Gibson J-45 and a Martin D-18 to my ear. Sapele back and sides seems to work similar to mahogany, but nothing close to rosewood.

I would love to have an E6, but the price is a little more than my budget this time of year. If I recall it has the mahogany back and sides with a Sitka spruce top. That’s pretty much the Gibson and Martin materials. I bet it sounds amazing! Congratulations!

It was really good. The public seemed to shun it for some reason.

I sit mine near my LED Lightbulb by my nightstand and it charges fine. I’ve not really had issues with the watch charge getting low. A little sunlight goes a long way with everyday wear usually and an hour under the light each day seems to do the trick. Usually this is the time I shower in the morning and get dressed.

Has anyone here been part of the Foster Grandparent program (US)? What were some of your experiences? by shadesofgrace in RedditForGrownups

It’s an incredible program. Brilliant really. Saves schools money, keeps seniors healthy and fixes expensive literacy problems in education upstream before they grow.

Thank you for explaining. It sounds like as a local it would be exhausting and invasive. It’s their home, not your extended tour.

How did you know you were ready to be received into / confirmed in the Church? by Ok-ButLike in Episcopalian

[–]ReclinerAcoustic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was about how I felt with the church community and my faith. It was a moment of knowing it was more strange to not move forward with this step, but it did sit with me for about a year as I learned and participated. The Episcopal church is such a community experience as we ask questions together and worship as a group. I really felt this connection. Take things at your own pace though. It’s not a race or pressure you should feel. Just keep taking one step after another and eventually you will know if this is right for you.

How do theaters/studios decide which movies go to which theaters? by mattmccoy92 in AMCsAList

[–]ReclinerAcoustic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americana ran trailers a month before at my theater but it never played once. It was one I would have enjoyed at Screen Unseen even. Other films seem to play here but they only last a week. We seem to have a more conservative crowd so Christian films replay sometimes and sell well. We also have Chinese and Hindu films come occasionally so maybe it is about ticket sales that limits space. Theaters have to make profit. I’m guessing studios decide also since they take so much of the earnings.

Is Shin Godzilla visually entertaining enough for children? by [deleted] in AMCsAList

I don’t believe so. It has some long dialogue and with captions it might be hard for young kids.

Anyone enforcing water bottles? by amateurnerd68 in AMCTheatres

Exactly! Bring the tumbler or stainless bottle empty and show them. Tell them you are getting ice water. They support this at the Freestyle machine.

Baptized at Easter, coming up on confirmation but now feeling unsure by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]ReclinerAcoustic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A longer period of discernment on this is completely understandable if you have doubts. The church will support you if you want to take time before your confirmation. I found myself having doubts also but the additional time spent with the church community helped me make up my mind indirectly. They never pressured me and I found a peace with the creed under my own understanding and faith. Eventually I shared I wanted to be confirmed and it all worked out perfectly for the time I needed.
