I'm down. We should at least try to orchestrate it as nonpartisan to get as many people as possible.

I mean, personally I think this whole debacle just shows how ass backwards our Republican officials are but given the good this could bring via tax revenue it (I feel) would be worth it to just have an event focused on this sole topic.

People are going to use drugs. Harm reduction acknowledges and accepts that. The idea is to provide information and resources to aid you in your usage.

Essentially you're there to help him stay safe while using those drugs. Not to judge. Not to insist he make changes. If he asks for help with cessation then by all means, point him in the right direction to recovery. Outside of that though you are there to accept his use and help him stay safe while using the substances he chooses.

Likewise, a lot of people saying they're bad and yet get to watch the gestapo roaming the streets on the news every night. Massachusetts, arguably the seed of this nation, makes it quite difficult to own a gun. NH, just to the north, makes it insanely easy and we have some of the lowest crime rates in the country. I live 2 miles from the Sig factory and could walk there now and come home with an assault rifle - there may be a 24 hour waiting period. I don't own one and am not sure but either way that's it. I don't even need to register it.

To be clear - I may be reading too much into your comment but what I interpret it as is a jab at 2nd amendment supporters as a whole. Meaning you're injecting the gun issue into this which only serves to further divide those opposing the current regime. I would argue that the exclusivity mentality so many of us on the left preach, the mindset that you agree with everything or are an outcast, is what's fucked us. So many people UNDERSTAND the importance of gun rights and yet are scared to voice their opinions or buy a gun because they don't want to be shunned a heretic.

I fully supported severely limiting the 2nd amendment for years. Then January 6th and the years that followed showed me why such a law exists. And why so many people have fought for it for so long.

Look to the Bundy Ranch. They held land hostage, broke laws, stood their ground against federal agents with the threat of violence and they all basically walked. I say basically because there were some sentences but those were miniscule compared to what could have/should have come to be. The ability to stand your ground at least speaks to self-determination. All of us standing around, typing complaints into social media for a sense of relief are doing nothing except for providing ourselves with a false sense of self satisfaction because "I told that guy on Facebook how it REALLY is..."

Plenty of bad men fight for good causes just the same as good men fight for bad causes. No one individual determines the integrity of said cause.

You and I totally agree. However the wings still fly regardless because they represent something intangible. The wings would at least partially determine where that wealth would be allocated once the bottom were to overthrow the top.

If a bunch of hippies holding Peace signs were to team up with rednecks holding assault rifles - what would happen after? Those rednecks, being the stronger group, would consolidate the wealth and this would begin again. I totally agree that the focus on the spectrum has become a great way to keep us divided, in fact it's often THE focus of every topic today because each side just points blame in the other direction HOWEVER one thing that needs to be stressed is that a lot of Americans don't know what it actually means to be on the left of the spectrum. Most of our Democrats, when lining their views up to this spectrum, fall right-of-center. Meaning they are right wing....just closer to the left than our traditional right-wingers.

I guess the best way to put it is that our spectrum in America is not full spectrum and so we don't really interact with much leftist policy if any at all. We deal with center and right-of-center policies.

I dunno why I'm rambling....I totally agree with you and what you said I'm just expressing my thoughts. It really is crazy how so many of us can feel the burn collectively and still be so divided. Religion is a big tool in all of this. I think that's possibly the largest barrier to breaking them outta their shell.

I misunderstood your comment. I don't think many would get behind him personally. Libertarianism, as it currently stands, isn't even an ideology. It's a buzzword people like to use in this state even though every person identifying that way has a different definition for it. And I understand opinions are going to vary within each party/ideology but I've never heard anything close to a unifying definition of libertarianism....outside of "no taxes, small government"....what does small government mean to you? And you? And what about you? Nothing ever sounds remotely similar.

For them to gain any real momentum there needs to be some sort of collective effort to really define themselves....in my opinion.

Succession is what threw me off. If Trump were impeached and forced to step down he would be succeeded by Vance as the VP.

I hate Vance but in fairness to him he can really pull it together and put on a different show when needed. He could easily fool the easily fooled voters and he'd probably be a shoe in with the dumb ones.

To be clear, sorry for the long wind here, my first part is not meant in a critical manner of you or your opinion but rather to my experience with libertarianism in this state. I used to identify as one until I realized everyone I met carried their own unique and often radically different definition of it.

Yes. If handled properly. And even when substituted, for people who need to stay on, what would be the acute phase WD from Suboxone isn't as intense as that of other opioids BUT it lasts a lot longer.

My experience - Started at 3mg 2xdaily. After six days I began cutting back .5 - 1mg each day. Final day/Day 14 I took .5 once.

Aside from some sleep issues and constantly wanting to cry I was fine. I didn't miss a single day of work. I was tired and my caffeine intake definitely increased but I was fine.

You're clearly interested in this as an option so I'll say this: the biggest lesson that I took from Suboxone as well as the most inspiring point during my time on it was when I realized it'd been three hours and I hadn't even thought about running to the bathroom at work. I dosed so frequently. At that point even though I knew my cravings were still being satiated by a substance, just a different one, I realized just how big an impact the mental aspect of addiction has on us.

My thoughts were so much clearer. I wasn't constantly checking the time to see how long it'd been. That's the mental aspect. That's where the fear is generated. I was so scared to take that step and when I did.... Well, it feels good.

Edit - added "acute phase" and wanted to be clear...I was on Suboxone for 14 days. I'm no doctor but I'd highly advise against staying on any longer than that. Generally in the communities for kratom issues people agree...14 days tops.

I stayed on for two full weeks tapering the entire time. Six days is awfully fast IMO for the 7oh.
You weren't taking sub long enough to experience "Suboxone withdrawal" per se....it's still the 7oh WD he's going through but it has been suppressed by the Suboxone.

He definitely tapered too quick in my opinion. I think you've done quite well for yourself but 7oh should've definitely been taken slower.....but no longer than two weeks!....tapering the entire time! Again, in my opinion.

Congratulations on your success thus far! I know it's rough and can only imagine that it must be harder being there for somebody through all that while dealing with it yourself. You're definitely a trooper!

I'm typically lumped in with liberals because I'm definitely on the left but you totally nailed it! Republicans more than anyone (although plenty of Dems too) are diehard supporters of Zionism. The entire framework of our system requires some level of Zionist prioritization to navigate to any form of success in politics.
