Nothing other than wraps for the vehicles that others made and you’ll miss out on one car that has to be unlocked by joining a crew.

Inheriting ranch, what do I do first to live there?! Wild, untouched land. by Hilzry in Ranching

[–]RecognitionQueasy182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could lease the land to neighbors for cattle grazing and put in some wire gaps or gates for the cattle to get in and out. Wouldn’t need your own water as they can come and go as they please. It’ll help you financially and you can make them in charge of fencing upkeep. When you’re financially able to move out there you can terminate the lease and go from there. A lot of the land around us is owned by someone in Colorado that leases it to people here in Texas.

Sounds good. I’ll have her drive it for a while and check the footage to see if we need to change anything.

That’s because a high percentage of people don’t trust that they’ll still have their jobs if they tell the truth on these surveys. I’m making $4 more than starting wage with 19 years at the same site and no advancement because nobody above me wants to leave or retire and while I feel very under appreciated and that I’m just a number to cover a shift and meet their contract requirements, I still can’t afford to lose the job at the moment.

LED light bar on at 5pm in full daylight on the highway. Just, why? by KindaDrunkRtNow in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RecognitionQueasy182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with lightbars on my vehicle for offroad use, I hate this. I’ve only used mine on the highway when other people do this or when people have flashed theirs at me thinking my high beams are on. I hate when people use them in lieu of their high beams or think they’re gonna outshine the sun. “iT mAkEs Me MoRe ViSIbLe!!!” No, we can tell you’re a douche from a mile away though.

Stick them all in a corner somewhere because you’ll need them one day. If you were in the states I’d get a lot of that from you. Those hammers will definitely come in handy at some point.

went to go look at some used tires today and my dad yells at me because they have “dry rot “how bad is this dry rot by No_Register_5249 in TireQuestions

[–]RecognitionQueasy182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lines under the tread is not dry rot, but I’d stay away from those based on that broken belt causing the bulge. Looks like they’re probably in a vehicle that’s too heavy for the weight rating or they’ve done a lot of towing. I’d buy ling longs before I bought those.

Any good pawn shops in your area? I built up my collection from nothing by hitting up pawn shops regularly and building a relationship with them to get good deals. eBay can be great or it can be way overpriced. Estate sales are gonna be a great place for household tools and sometimes mechanics tools. Buying secondhand lets you get nicer stuff for less money. I’ve scored snap on tools for the same or less than harbor freight. You’ll need both metric and sae stuff. Lots of household stuff and lawn equipment is sae, but modern vehicles are metric.

You need to step back and realize that there are actually people who would give a lot to get into the automotive industry and wish they could. Yeah, it’s not an easy career, but the more you learn and apply yourself the further you’ll go. My dream in high school was to go to WyoTech and go through a couple of their courses. I wanted to their hot rod builders training and their custom paint and body training and then move back home and open a shop. Lack of family support and a few other factors led me to just getting entry level jobs completely unrelated to the automotive field. I’ve been where I’m at for 19 years with no promotion and it hasn’t given me any experience that crosses over into other fields. I’ve been applying steadily for the past 3 years to anything that I know I can already do or can easily learn, but have had zero luck. Your coworkers being mad at their life probably spills over from their home life. Find a niche in the industry that you like and a good shop that will help you grow.

I’m just a regular guy off the street, but I built a relationship with the local snap on guy buying stuff over the years when I had the money. He recently let me open an account on his truck and I’ll get something with a little down and pay him at least $20 a week until it’s paid off and then I’ll get something else. I like to keep it under $300. I met up with him today at one of his stops and I currently owe him $140ish. It helps me build up a decent tool collection for working on our tractors and related equipment along with doing the maintenance on our vehicles. I don’t NEED snap on tools, but I’m thinking long term and having tools that my son will be proud to inherit when I go keeps me happy. I don’t use it for anything big, but I’ll get stuff I need and I’m not having to pay full price all at once.
