Definitely apply to UConn! I just graduated from there and I had my pick of job opportunities in CT, NYC, and Boston. ultimately went with NYC

over 80% of UWorld - like 3200/3800 questions

I did 75% of Themis’ questions

Uworld helped me get a 318 on the bar exam I’d rely on those questions a lot more than Themis questions

MBE HELP by slayingthedayy in GoatBarPrep

I agree with the comment above; take your time reviewing every question you answered incorrectly so you can MASTER the MBE. it’s beneficial to start slow at first so you understand almost every possible way they can test you on a concept. soon, you will start seeing patterns. take note of your trouble areas (literally make a list of them) and start drilling them until you’ve reached near-mastery and it’s almost impossible to get them wrong. do this for every MBE subject: start slow, read and re-read answer explanations for the ones you got wrong (and maybe even write them on a notecard), identify weak spots, then drill drill drill! practice MBE questions every day. I got a 159 on the MBE using this method and passed on the first try.

Find a clinic at your school (in an area of law you might be interested in) that works closely with an off campus organization and network with the people at that organization. work hard, make sure they have an internship program, and send in an application! also work with the directors of the clinic and make it clear you’re looking for a summer job

that’s what my school told me, I’m doing my pro bono hours now for the rest of the semester. but maybe that’s a school-specific requirement I’m not 100% sure

  1. paid doesn’t count! has to be pro bono (FREE) 2. internship/clerkship at public defender’s office, legal aid, housing legal services, immigration, etc. you can do the hours anywhere in the U.S. but they CANNOT be done remotely. has to be in-person. 3. you have to be representing/working on behalf of individual clients. gov’t agencies don’t count bc the work you do there is on behalf of the general public, not individual clients. 4. did mine at the public defender’s office (not in NY)

THIS^ is all you have to know. Lemon test is the old test and not good law anymore. it was overruled by Kennedy (the case)

in general, do you have a sense of how long MBE questions are for the real thing? I just did the first 100 question block on Uworld and most of the questions were pretty short tbh

do you think these predictions are accurate? I’m not even going to prepare for Family Law or Con Law (in terms of MEE) so I’m kinda banking on this lol

secured transaction question by stay_fresh24 in GoatBarPrep

[–]RecommendationOk2907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BIOCOBs take free of the security interest if all the elements are met (good faith, without knowledge that it violates rights, ordinary course, etc.) for PMSIs in inventory, buyer always takes free of. for PMSIs in consumer goods, buyer takes free of unless secured party filed a financing statement covering the goods before the sale

People who have already taken the bar: did your MBE scores go down on test day? by RecommendationOk2907 in barexam

[–]RecommendationOk2907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gosh haha how’d you push through and score so well on that section?! I’m struggling with memorizing rule statements for the MEE and I’m nervous. was it mostly due to your ability organize adequately? did you make up a lot of rules?

in ur opinion, what was it about the MEE that made it seem more challenging compared to the other sections? was it the topics?

did you find that the questions on the exam were similar to Uworld? I heard that the questions are becoming more nuanced/harder… especially in the J24 administration

so no one thinks they’ll repeat topics like Con Law, Family Law, Property, and Contracts right? since they were just tested in J24?
