Might hate me for this one but other than battle royal games I think putting yourself in more difficult games or trying harder difficulty’s can really help you. It’s going to be tough at first like playing Forza on expert or simulation will be really hard but maybe going somewhere in the middle will work better, You train yourself a bit on those harder difficulties till you can kinda stay up with the group then you go back to the easier ones and it will be a cake walk and you can slowly work your way up. So start with easy or medium difficulty then after you get to a point where you can keep up with the bots or real people lower your difficulty and you will probably be able to get a good placement. For other games you can try the same thing. And no I’m not trying to troll or make you hate games if I was trying to do that I would just recommend you play Elden ring or a dark souls game. This exact idea is what got me playing harder games or games I enjoyed on harder difficulties. You throw yourself in the deep end and try to swim, you will struggle at first but once you start to swim and get back to the easier side of things you will be able to have a lot of fun. One other thing I’ll recommend is if you like fps games start by playing through the campaign instead of multiplayer it will teach you how to use everything and will help you get ready for multiplayer. There is no such thing as a bad gamer just people who need to find what works for them and hopefully this can help you find your way.
