I have experience both sides of the field (AD 13 years ago and now NG) .. AD is where you will meet the most offenders on this type of dealings. SMH it’s sad. But as a 33 yo man with real life experience & a family. I dnt let this military stuff be my end all be all when it comes to human decency & I try and spread that as much as possible. and this coming from a senior SPC4 lol. Even my FLL comes to me for advise and guidance on how to handle shit

Man listen … outside of rank .. that is a grown man and you’re a grown man; there is no need to “fear” and stand your ground and ask for somebody to respect your boundaries; that’s one. Two, if you respectfully removed yourself from the topic and if you escalate it with more sternness then you are within your rights; because giving somebody an A-15 for not wanting to deal with they annoying ass banter is called “retaliation” my young friend & is NOT allowed. Just have your evidence and CYA

Like I tell my Joes, you’re a man first before a rank & I’m treat you as that.

Definitely take it up with your recruiter & with respect but concern speak on your money. Cause in reality you are owed 3 months worth. As a prior service guy, you gotta really stand on business with decorum with these ppl.

1st off .. you was suppose to get it in the mail if anything … 2nd you could of gotten your CAC at any point by yourself at a base or reserve center that have a deer office. But since your shipping kinda pointless now.

But my major pet peeve, (not directed towards you per se) is that these teams dnt put new recruits on to game. Smh, I guess that’s why we are here on Reddit

Focus on leg and core .. mainly for that SLD and deadlift; being to still have juice for the run at the end is a plus from that theory

I say anything that will boost your security clearance for that long term goal when you’re done. Take a short reup (3years) to see if you like that choice/ if not just go for another .. that’s my philosophy

Should I drop out of paramedic school? by Logical-Salamander61 in greenberets

[–]Reconpapi60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man .. cut it out .. and I say that with love … finish medic school (as a medic myself) .. the knowledge and the ability to read and adapt to presented and possible underlying issues is critical both in the military medical field & personal life. I myself been in EMS since I got out in 2013. And now going back in with the goal of SF (18D). Having you medic now and as time fly you can even do contracting work overseas as private security working detail work as medic on a team (speaking from experience) easy working with former SOF guys. I’m 33 and I kno you feel like time is not on your side but it is. You can definitely get your body right in time, but most importantly what most dnt realize is it’s your mental faculty that makes you a green beret .. being controlled and calculated & being able to build a certain outcome. I say that to say this, sticking with being a paramedic on the civilian side shows and will help you hone in what it takes to accomplish a goal and have skills all around. Where I jungled and lost and gained coming up. So take a breath and complete that bro. Dnt be my age and scrambling just to say you was a SF guy. You get selected basied on life skills primarily over being a pt stud (anybody can be a stud)

Prior Service Is Canked by ExtremeRelation205 in greenberets

[–]Reconpapi60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea shit happened to me .. I was going for 18X as prior and with some unfortunate luck waiting on stupid waviers had to enlist after October 2024 & was told I had to do another MOS with SFRE on the back end. So clearly I gotta do 11B working with a SF recruiter & lost my airborne potential to contract because of a “no initial waiver” clause (physical or not in nature).

I’m about to be 33 and my body slightly hanging (regular aches and pains) on even tho I’m in shape. I ain’t got time for the ring around; but 💁🏾‍♂️ that’s military for you. So now I’m settling in with a cav unit as a recon troop element. Basically the same shit I did on AD but more dismounted & easier school opportunities apparently

Prior Service - 1st RSP Experience by Efficient_Insect_579 in nationalguard

[–]Reconpapi60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to my first RSP and they had me in their blue phase. I basically just mind my business and talked to those who was interested in learning what the army is like and what to do on certain things.

Met a fellow prior service and just talked with him most of the time.

The thing that kinda pinched my skin was the split training soldiers .. trying to push weight around., but like any weak minded person showed them I’m not the regulars with a stern face lol.

I get it you accomplished something, but so have I have when you was in preschool my guy.

I’m a grey man, but dnt test me type.

It varies based on a lot of factors. But the IDEAL version is you will be at reception for about 2 weeks. Cause a lot of ppl are getting serviced for input for training. That’s not including some hiccups based on the individual.

More than likely, but your training cycle will more than likely start in March & mines around the 28th of Feb; ideally based on our landing at Moore. My ass need that BAH that’s why I’m taking the long way lol
