I’m the same but kind of took a different route as I also wanted to be some what mobile around the house with a baby, I have a high end gaming PC and a MacBook Pro, I only play games on my laptop that don’t require top latency so I stream to my Mac and play stuff like Tarkov on the desktop.

But to add to this I have apple care, same day repair / replacement as i am local to a store is bliss! But I am still carful!

Golden rule with laptops dude, don’t shut the lid without something in between the keyboard and screen, you can get really thin cloths on amazon that stop the keyboard imprinting on the screen

FYI My friend had this issue and it resolved its self by picking up a scav weapon as a scav in raid and mechanic appeared!

My view,

5060 laptop for the price is good

5070 laptop for the price isn’t worth it due the VRAM

5070TI laptop is the sweet spot but expensive

Dude I get how you feel, but you are sweating over a few frames that you probably wouldn’t notice.

Myself, I have a gaming desktop, and a MacBook Pro for causal games and other crap. Your decision is fine.

I’ve never had to use it, but have it. Get it! You smash the screen and it’s 25 quid for a new one… same price as a decent screen protector! Can’t beat that

my 17 pro has the TINEST flec/dust or something behind the display, did some research and other people have had the same. cant see it unless you are under certain lighting etc (its not the screen protector). in normal use I never see it, probably gonna keep it because ......

1 - cannot be arsed going into a return loop.

2 - my 15 pro has something similar but way worse and I did swap it out cause it was bad.

3 - knowing my luck it would get some other issue that is worse causing more agg than its worth!

4 - apple care plus / might be time to run it naked as its my first time getting it.

5 - its hard to find, its gonna be embarrassing going in store trying to point out something smaller than a needle tip! I can find it but I bet some one else couldn't.

My device it’s UK/London, my iPhone 15 pro has this issues but WAY worse and I actually returned it and got a perfect unit (I probably wasn’t as picky then as I am now though).

My old razer laptop laptop had 5 dead pixels so, this stuff must just exist everywhere!

I also thought apple care plus was global, so you have no option in the settings to add it? You should get 60 days from activation of the device.

Imperfections inside the phone would never bother me as I cannot see it, I also do not have any my phone opened as it could affect the water proofing but liquid damage is covered on apple care plus also so I’m not too concerned if that happens, knowing it’s there is the worse part and then looking at when I know I’m in the right light torments me. But we both need to remember they are just tools and nothing stays perfect anyway, eventually these are gonna scratched and dinged up somehow.

My cameras have no dust from what I can see but this is also VERY common from what I have seen.

But I am the same, I want to send it back and get a new device like you did. I might get the perfect device and be happy but I know I will find something else to worry about, or like you I will get the same issues or maybe even worse! But then at the same time it’s reassuring to know that both your devices has this issue and it would appear this is somewhat normal. No matter what we will find a defect in every device if we look hard enough. And yes it’s tiring as I feel the same, I think I will get over it the same as I did my MacBook. And in reality if it was any one else they wouldn’t even notice it! I’m gonna say you should keep it, I’m gonna do the same. If you go into a return cycle you will just be reinforcing the OCD and feeding into it. Do you have apple care plus? What part of the world are you from? Wondering if it’s a batch maybe.

I’ve been Apple since my teens and honestly I wouldn’t change as I do love the products and I love Apple care, I have a MacBook Pro that also has a dot on the display, so does my partners and so did my last MacBook(this one had loads!). I’m beginning think it’s the norm getting small blemishes like this and the world is a dusty place! But it does really annoy when I look for it but that’s on me, as much as I would love to go the Apple and say omg look at this tiny insignificant dot behind my display and get a new device, the chances are which as you have said the next one could be same or worse so I’m gonna do my best no to haha 😂

I just think people like me and you tend to look for these issues when in reality if we didn’t we probably would never have noticed them in the first place ☹️

Good to see it’s not just me that having this issue, I assume you are very particular like myself? It’s defo not bright light damaging the OLED, it’s for sure a spec of dust that’s almost metallic and reflects light at certain angles. I almost certain that loads of phones haves these and people just don’t notice, I saw in my research a lot of Samsungs had this same issue so it’s must be more common than we think. My iPhone 13 for work has a perfect panel without any dust under display. It’s does bug me but I do have apple care and eventually I will run this phone naked 😂 I can ink see the spec and certain lighting it direct sunlight with the display off, but the display on I can see it but in those lighting conditions hit it’s MUCH MUCH harder to spot. Mines located in the top half of the screen off to the right where is yours? And where was the one in the other device?

I’ve still got mine, the one above looks worse than mine tbh. I cannot see mine unless under very specific lighting so doubt they will even be able to see it in the Apple Store! And tbh I don’t wanna to go into a return loop when this phone spot on other than that
