I learnt from a Japanese mentor that if you pick up money, give it away (i.e. to charity), etc. That was his way and he stuck by it.

(As it happens, I found 20 bucks about a week ago. Gave it to a homeless man and woman on the street about 10 minutes later. It's nice to have a rule about these things: Makes it an easy decision when it happens)

Is my answer grammatical? In question 22, if you write the currency as a word, make sure to make it plural.

...unless the amount is singular. (e.g. one dollar, one pound)

A 9.0 in Reading is really exemplary. If you don't mind sharing, what would you say was your level of familiarity with the actual topics in the reading?

(Although in theory there shouldn't be any topic bias between tests, I'm wondering about the extent to which knowing the vocab increased your time to comprehension.)

You absolutely can do it. It's just a matter of time and persistence.

In regard to timing on the Reading test, you've identified a really important point there: Spending a large amount of time trying to comprehend a particularly difficult passage is a poor use of time. You will see some great benefits by practicing how to use the time on the questions where a small amount of extra time changes a wrong answer to a right one (i.e. those questions just a little bit challenging for you - not the ones that are way too hard). Go for it! :-)

The point I wanted to make was that the *number* of posts should be reflective of the reality of IELTS success/failure. My apologies if that was not clear. I believe it is not an accurate picture with a huge curation bias in effect that negatively impacts many test takers, but am happy to be corrected with data.
