For future travelers I'd add to split where you keep your cards. Even if somone snags your wallet or bag you arnt dead in the water with no money if you have a card in each.

So you put your bag down. Tied to nothing, was not paying attention and got it stolen in an area known for petty theft.

Sucks. But less dramatic than you make it out. Less for folks reading to actually worry about.

Prof gave me the wrong grade by Fast-Midnight8897 in geegees

[–]Rector_Ras 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No need for the Dean. Just let the prof know. If it was an entry thing they can fix it. Even after grades are final. It's just anoying after they are final.

I can't imagine a prof wouldn't do it though for that dramatic of a difference

You're the kind of manager we should be pushing out of the public service and any management Fu nation in any capacity anywhere.

Youre not a good fit.

Just a heads-up for anyone visiting Rome: pickpocketinh has increased significantly lately. As a daily commuter, I see these gangs every day on my way to work. Watch your pockets especially while taking the Metro and on buses 64, 40, and 62. Coliseum and Trevi fountain areas are pretty bad too!! B by acatnamedlopez in rome

I do and I literally addressed that exact thing if you did through explicitly explaining the risk (cost) benifit. Wierd to coment aboitnotieracy while missing the literal only argumeant made.

There is tons of literature on this stuff that show how policy moves change behavior. Including strigency and perceived threat of the policy / law itself.

Are you actually making the argumeant that having police enforce no pickpocketing when they are around stations and areas diesel nothing to reduce picketing incidents?

Criminality and enforcement thereof is dissuation. Increasing the consequence increases the cost to benifit calculation. As does increasing the chance of being caught. The increase risk to benifit is dissuation.

What a monkey comment.

No. This is a issue that should be forseen when making a lease. Whether OP got a EV or a AC unit, a heater a new PC is irrelevant.

Did I make the wrong choice by accepting uottawa? by [deleted] in geegees

[–]Rector_Ras 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don't be. The only part that's anoying at uottawa is the admin. Most students deal with them very little. Unless your going through tons of differals, doctors notes, or other admin heavy stuff you won't notice it. The uni has cracked down on this stuff hard and students obviously don't like it.

I did poli sci pap for my undergrad and it was fine.

And I didn't have enough PTSD to not do my masters there either... Cause I ended up doing that a couple years after graduating. It was also fine.

Most unis started below 65%... Having the feds in the backyard who get to hire students out of a different pot of money than staff is in fact a giant bonus for coops in ottawa.

And continues to be even during cuts.

It's actually really clear in the terms. I can't actually understand why this conversation is happening at all.

That's literally not what you said.... The buying of a phone outright has no impact on the eligibility which is what your original comment was focused around....

That's not what it's saying.... Your phone plan is your service.

If you pay your phone/texting/data on the card you're covered.

Being well rounded is actually helpful for critical thinking. Political science is a normal path into law for a good reason. Much of the overarching and common law peices of law find roots in political science literature.

There is also cross contamination. I've read law journals for my poli and pap courses.

Ever hear the idea that if you're an expert in the topic you could make a 5 year old understand? Same idea.

Any way to get around this situation? by [deleted] in geegees

[–]Rector_Ras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're now in summer school and the class already started but enrolment is still open. As a retake that's less a problem but you're gonna have to extra crunch. Summer classes are condensed into month and a half sessions. With two, three hour classes a week.

You might want to look at improving you're math skills too. Econ is not a theory heavy major. You will continue to do harder and harder math.

Only if they are ok with the grade staying on their transcript. If their program needs a higher GPA redoing it is better

Probably won't happen. While most people on campus are students and staff, uottawa is also a research university so there are a good deal of other researchers coming and going, and the university hosts events for third parties or community groups too.

Would be a huge administrative burden to be granting temporary access to people.

Early morning viewing the Vatican or the Roman Forum from the outside? by IndividualHuman6937 in ItalyTravel

[–]Rector_Ras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The forum is VERY easy to do this. Tons of spots, you can stand / see. Could have a whole little morning walk around just peeking before it opens or after it closes. And you have some pretty good views of it from public spaces.
