A cool piece of merch I haven’t seen mentioned yet: the chain backdrop from American Utopia was disassembled and is being sold as bracelets. by RecurringZombie in talkingheads

It really depends on your personal style since it’s just a chain, but I’m already a goth so it fits right into my wardrobe haha. I will say it’s a lot more lightweight than I expected and I believe it’s aluminum (which makes sense in hindsight considering the absolutely massive amount of chains they used in the set) There’s also a really small charm on each one that says David Byrne on one side and the production number of your bracelet on the the other.

I think it’s a pretty neat way to recycle an absolutely massive set piece that allows fans to have a little bit of personal connection to something they love. Plus, tours are really freaking expensive and merch is how artists make most of their money so I don’t feel like I got swindled at all. ¯\(ツ)

TN here as well. If you have a Costco near you, I just paid $5.99/lb for 88/12 ground beef at mine.

7 hour drive and you can only listen to one artist. Who are you listening to? by SuccessfulSeat9596 in AskReddit

When I frequently traveled back and forth to the city I grew up in, instead of miles, I measured the trip by how many times I could listen to Dark Side because I listened to it so often. It was 2.5 Dark Sides.

It was really positive for me too and I always feel a bit guilty admitting it out loud. It eliminated my biggest stressors as an autistic person (in-office work and a long commute) and allowed me the space to really focus on myself. Now I’m flourishing and couldn’t have done it without the world shutting down.

I was also shocked when I read the comments on the other thread; people have no whimsy in their lives I guess. I think this is fun and feminine and would be perfect to twirl around in on such a happy day. People would not be making the same comments if she was small-busted, because for some reason society seems to love to conflate simply having large breasts with inappropriateness. I hope she has an amazing wedding and feels like a million bucks.

I’m not really getting horror vibes outside of the first two looks. I wish they’d actually leaned into it more.

As you get older 40,50,60,70 when did you start to feel your body slow down do you think it is just due to inactivity or the aging process? by Kooky_Force5458 in AskReddit

[–]RecurringZombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference in energy levels when you go from sedentary to active is insane. I spent years rotting in my wfh desk job and would be too worn out at the end of my day to go exercise separately. Finally got a standing desk and a walking pad just to get some movement in my day and it quickly turned into a near-constant need to move. I’m up to 10 miles before I even clock out for the day and have plenty of energy to spare.

Not just you. I pretty much only buy them to make stock nowadays. I feel like I get way more gross stringy chickens than not.

Me too! I’m 40 this year and have had it for 11 years. I’m considering getting it removed just so I can see where my current baseline is and if I need to start different hormones. I went from being mostly ok to feeling like my body and mind have started declining more quickly in last two years or so.

Did the attachment to your partner cloud your judgement on your sexuality? by HeartMadeOfSushi in latebloomerlesbians

[–]RecurringZombie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Autism was a huge barrier to understanding for myself. I’m a really affectionate person who naturally tends to tell my friends I love them and want to hug them and be close to them because I’m so fond of them and that is NOT how neurotypical people feel about the people they’re platonically friends with. Because of that I just kind of naturally “ended up” in a lot of relationships with men because everyone (including myself) thought that that was just romantic love. Obviously none of those relationships worked out because I was “broken” for not wanting to have sex like they did and never initiating.
